AdSense – is it all that the hype says it is?

We’ve all seen the hype surrounding AdSense, contextual advertising on your web site, and heard the stories of people banking thousands from this groundbreaking concept. But… for every person banking $1,000’s there are many, many more who are banking less than $50 per month. There are many reasons for this so let’s examine a few.  Value of the ads – despite the hype over the high paying keywords, many keyword pay only a few cents to the advertiser (that’s you). The high paying keywords are fiercely fought over by both bidders and advertisers. That’s a fierce arena for someone with little experience and little traffic to their site. So forget about throwing up a “meso” or credit web site and then sitting back and banking your new found fortune. That is probably not going to happen.  Your business model – there are two ways to profit from AdSense – a few web sites with loads of traffic or numerous web sites with average traffic.

The concept is the same as with any business – it’s “bums on seats” or “people through the door” that make the money. Looking at the first model – plainly the problem is to get many interested people to your web site – preferably those seeking information so that if they don’t find it on your site, they click on one of your ads and move onto another site – leaving you with a few cents as they leave you. Traffic, as any internet marketer will tell you, is not only the life blood of your business, but is also very expensive and time consuming to build up. Shouldn’t you be looking at capturing emails for your mailing list or selling them something rather than letting them go leaving you a few cents in tips. Of course if you merely look at AdSense as a secondary income, then these few cents are more than welcome. Let’s look now at the second model – the pile it high concept. You need numerous very large sites, all attracting high paying words with thousands of pages, to make a good living with AdSense. There is a place for this, and indeed we sell large batches of densely keyworded AdSense article sites ourselves – because we know they work. But… here is the problem. In order to make them work – you need not only a lot of domain names, but also a serious amount of hosting and we are talking paid hosting, not the no cost stuff. Many packs sold have over 100 sites and tens of thousands of pages. 100 sites means 100 domains – that is about $1,000 a year and a lot of time finding good ones. Of course you could use sub domains, but then you have problems getting them all into the search engines and pay per click advertising. 10,000+ pages and 100 domains – that’s a server you need to rent, be it virtual or actual. That is serious money each month – and you have still not earned a dime! You have to earn a serious number of click thrus to cover your annual and monthly fees.

The ads themselves – just as banners are no way as effective as they once were, then surfers are growing weary of AdSense ads. This is especially so of those ugly sites that just throw up the maximum 3 sets of ads in the default colors, not caring if they are messy and detract from the site. Many of these sites contain minimal information and are spoiling it for those that make much more effort with their internet business. Google knows it has a cash cow and a virtual monopoly with the AdSense business, I can’t see it letting this happen for too much longer, but sadly it will take a long time to clear up and, as this happens, surfers will get more and more immune to the ads. It’s not as if you can encourage your visitors to use the links, or disguise the ads, or even place graphics around them – all forbidden by the Google Terms of Service. So what can you do to keep making a secondary income from your web sites? Well if you want to stay with Google and why not? Then; understand that it is a business and be prepared to spend out on advertising, test your product, refine your web site, tailor your advert design to your web site and lastly offer good value to your surfers.

Lastly look elsewhere – we found a great software program that lets you provide contextual adverts on your web site derived from the 1,000’s of high commission paying products in ClickBank.

The beauty is that you can merge these ads into your web site, draw attention to them, encourage people to click on them and add graphics to them. Better than that, although you don’t get paid when someone clicks on the ads, your Clickbank name is added to the link, so if someone buys from the powerful sales page you send them to, you make a very large commission – up to about $75 from some sites? So AdSense is a great system, but what about looking at other methods? – Just a thought! ————————————————- ©   Biz Guru Services Ltd Lee Lister, writes as The Biz Guru, for a number of web sites including her own sites. Corporate Internet Branding

The Internet is a ubiquitous Corporate communications and sales channel, however many companies are still not utilizing much of its power.

That could be because of loyalties to comfortable old channels or that there aren’t enough Internet marketing experts to take their brands into the digital realm. Regardless of the hold-ups in leveraging internal or external Internet communications options, consumer and B2B channels are growing their share of the market. Resistance is futile and with this change in how consumers and B2B buyers are reached, is a change in the symbolism, voice, and style of promoting brands. That doesn’t necessarily mean the Internet can’t play a supporting role for your offline or TV advertising. For many campaigns, the Internet is just another conduit for sales videos and corporate brochures. Some are satisfied with this, however the Internet’s own power to communicate and generate business shouldn’t be underestimated. The Internet, whether through public Web sites, search engines, Internet radio broadcasts, and e-mail are very targeted. It is shown to reach the right target at the right time with the right message. It doesn’t matter whether you use a Web friendly, or search engine friendly approach to your online advertising and promotion.

You need to be there anyway you can.

It’s too important to let it slide. Internet branding is a term in increasing usage because branding can be adapted to be effective on the Internet. That’s different from broadcasting your TV video ad or showing your marketing brochure on your Web site. With Internet branding, you’re taking into consideration that viewers have searched around and seen many other products similar to yours. They may have reviewed many more product or service features than they would think about while watching television or casually reading a magazine. Your customer’s context then is different. The splashy video display generally isn’t there and surprisingly, few people are interested in seeing it. They’re pressured for time and want to find what they’re looking for. If you understand their quest for knowledge, you can better shape your value proposition and even your sales pitch. Active Internet Positioning The Internet appears to be a passive marketing environment, but it’s actually very active. To stay one step ahead of the elusive customer, you have to continually position your products and Web site to meet their needs ahead of time. An Internet marketing expert helps to tell you where people are going ahead of time. You may even position your brand better with this knowledge.

You have returning customers whose loyalty you want to build and you have new prospects coming in searching and enquiring about different things. It’s not easy to position a brand to meet all those needs. There are experts in the field who can help you understand Web visitors and help you build powerful Corporate Internet Branding strategies. It’s easy to say you’ll advertise to reach all the same prospects you did with your TV campaigns, but Internet audiences are different. And, advertising, such as search engine advertising can be expensive. You may not be able to afford to reach those same people. That means you may have to plan a way to reach particular segments of that audience with more specific features and benefits. Only after you bring them to your Web site and established credibility with respect to the product they’re inquiring about, will you be able to present your corporate brand. Corporate branding is powerful today and Corporate Internet Branding even more so. You can introduce products more quickly and even reposition them more effectively. People see corporate brands all the time though and are not necessarily impressed that your corporate brand will make this particular product relevant to them. For instance, just because Nike makes golf equipment doesn’t mean their “big mammoth driver” is the right one. The corporate logo won’t be enough and forcing the brand on them isn’t going to make them buy it. Search Marketing Instead, Internet branding strategies, particularly those that deliver targeted visitors to your Web site, ensure your establish credibility and relevance. Remember that Web visitors are in an intense state of consciousness. They’re very often looking for something specific. If you want to get anywhere on the Web as a user, you have to have an idea of what you want, or you’ll sit frustrated in front of your computer. Television and magazines are very different. The channels and pages in these mediums are limited and the prospect is captured. Not on the Internet. There are billions of web pages and hundreds of millions of Web sites.

With search engines, consumers can get help finding what they’re looking for. High ranking sites get first crack at these motivated/directed consumers. Your corporate Internet marketing strategy should be heavily involved in search engine visibility. It is an opportunity to present your site many different ways to many different types of consumers. The potential reach is further enhanced because you have International reach and the cost of entry is so minimal. Searchers are looking for quick solutions too. They’re not looking for fancy graphics and complicated menus that fly out all over the place. They’re looking for specific things about your products and services. Here, you have a low cost of adapting your brand imagery and communications to suit each group of visitors. Generally, it just takes another Web page designed and written for that group of consumers. You can fashion your homepage to let current customers get to what they’re looking for as well. After these searchers have found your products and services relevant to their search, your corporate brand will then have the power to make the sale and establish brand loyalty. Intelligent corporate Internet Branding adapts to the consumer. It de-massifies to serve each person as they arrive; yet it still delivers the corporate brand communication at the right time after the visitor is satisfied. Rather than a boastful in your face confrontation with the consumer, your corporate image becomes a helpful one and is relevant and timely. You get credit for being there when they needed you.

Forum Marketing

Pamela Wyke Forum marketing can be a bit tricky.

You have to be subtle or you can get banned. Look below at the «long post» for a list of the forums I have joined. It is a good idea to read and post in each of them every day which I have been really lax on. Now that I am not trying to publish my articles every day I can start posting there again. Forums can be alot of fun because they allow for open communication. Make a fun avatar Say something cute and memorable in your signature and you will get a good and friendly reputation. Steer clear of political and religious comments and threads and if you choose to post something there be sure to be extremely tactful! If someone starts to goad you stop and don’t respond at all unless you can be super super professional. Read the whole thread looking for tips and opinions that can help your business. Then post if you have something meaningful to say. Never post an ad on a forum! Make sure that your signature has your link and talk about what you have learned or how your life is changed by «your opportunity» but don’t use phrases like «Come Check this out!» or «Come to my site» If you find someone who you think (from reading their posts) would be a good member of your team send them a PM and don’t invite them to join up. Just say hi. Mention that you enjoy reading their posts and would like to be friends. Give them your MSN username or your email address. After you get to know them a bit they will likely ask you what your opportunity is or for sure they will check out your site. You likely won’t even need to invite them. Go to theirs and if they list a blog link add it to your bloglinker. Be Friendly! Be always on the lookout for people who you can connect with. Maybe they have a service that would help you market your site or maybe they are just fun people to get to know. Maybe they would benefit from your encouragment. Forums are alot of fun and I have only posted about three days of posting in each forum and I already have two good leads from my forum posts.

These are people who PMed me and asked specifically for Success U information. So I think it is a very good marketing idea. Sign up for as many forums as you can handle.

PPC Advertising – It Really Works Well!

One of the most effective and popular ways to get traffic to the websites is Online PPC advertising. PPC advertising, is also known as pay-per-click advertising and it is the way through which website owners can get targeted visitor traffic to their websites without having to stretch their budgets too far.

The benefit of using PPC advertising is that you only pay your bid on a key word or key phrase if customers click on the link to your ad in the search engine results. The more your ad is clicked on, the more you pay. The overall goal with any PPC advertising campaign is to get website traffic and if you are paying more, you are getting more visitors to your website. There are some important things about pay-per-click advertising campaign. First, it is very important that you choose the keywords that are best suited to your particular web site. PPC advertising can be a very successful marketing tool when used correctly, but you must maximize the efficiency of your ads in order for it to work well for your business. Pay-per-click advertising can be used as your only method of online advertising, or it can be used in conjunction with various other forms of advertising. There are basically two forms of PPC advertising. These are:  First, ads spread throughout the entire Internet. These may be obvious or can be more effectively merged into the site construction – they offer a short blurb describing your business and a link to your website.  Second, paid search engine rankings. This strategy allows customers searching for your particular keywords to find you at the top of the search engine listing, even if your site ranking wouldn’t normally place you there otherwise. There are many ways to get your web site seen online. This type of advertising makes sense to people who want to make sure that they are only paying for results, and not pre-paying for something that may or may not prove beneficial. This is where pay-per-click advertising works best for website owners; you only pay when someone clicks on your website through the search engine. The great thing about PPC advertising is that you only pay a certain amount when someone clicks on your ad link when it comes up in the search engine. PPC advertising is a win-win situation! If you are trying to get more exposure for your website you really should take a serious look at PPC advertising. It has proven over the last couple of years to be one of the most effective marketing tools in the business.

It has been estimated that millions of dollars are paid out per year for PPC advertising, proving that it really has a place in online advertising. PPC advertising works because people respond to it. Pay-per-click advertising is simply genius, no matter what side of the business you are on. It works because if people don’t find all of the info they need in one particular place they will then click on the links on that page. Also, people trust web pages that provide good content, so they assume that the links on the page are worth clicking. All around PPC advertising works because it is set up to work! This is a truly flawless advertising plan. If you’re looking to increase your online presence, find new customers, sell more products or simply make your brand known, PPC advertising may be right for you. With careful thought, pay-per-click advertising can be both profitable and beneficial for your online business.

Online Internet Marketing Made Easy Through Blogging

Is Internet Marketing presenting a challenge for you? Have you been trying to make some money on line? Does everything you try seem to lead into a road block? I know how you feel. I felt the exact same way. When I found my secret I found out how simple making things happen could be. I watched some videos and used the pause function while jumping back and forth between browser screens. Within a few minutes I had a blog on line ready to receive Internet traffic. This method is an awesome vehicle for Internet Marketing.

You do not need FTP, HTML, PHP or any of those other technical abbreviations. If you can type and communicate with other people, you can use this secret to build an Internet Business around your love or passion in life. If you are like me, the technical things have probably detoured your progress or maybe even caused progress to come to a halt.

With my secret method this doesn’t happen.

This method is simple and there are some killer step by step videos to guide you down the path to success. If the videos have you lost, you can simply call the office or send in an email support ticket. I started using these methods around the 4th of January. I posted to my blog, submitted the post to the social network sites and then submitted articles to directories like this one. I checked my domains traffic on my blog on Feb. 4th and had over 11,000 visitors. This is some pretty good action for the first month out. I just returned from a trip to Florida where we did these methods for 3 days with a group of 50 people. It will be interesting to hear about the results next month. I will post another article when this info is available. To Your Success.

Internet Marketing Service

Is Internet Marketing a service? Well in a since I guess it is.

Maybe we are marketing to a specific niche outside of the Internet Marketing (IM) community, or maybe we are marketing directly to the IM community. Either way, I’m sure you would agree that we are performing a service. I run a website about pool and billiards. You can find free fundamental training on the game, information about billiards equipment and even a chart showing how large of a room you need depending on the size of pool table you are putting in the room. Wouldn’t you agree that this is definitely a service? Many people are looking for that magic pill when it comes to making money online. What we need to understand, is that in order to make money and build a business, we have to provide value to others. Look at any business out there and you will find that they provide value to others. They perform a service. If I were to take people by the hand, help them choose a topic and product, and then guide them in setting up a profitable business, You could call it an Internet Marketing Service. What kind of service do you provide? You must remember the part about providing value to others. This is the only way to build a lasting business. We see people come along who sell flash and flare with no real value. These people may make a little money short term, but unless true value to others is provided, the business will tank.

I write quite a few articles about Internet Marketing, Home based business, online marketing, pool and billiards and even Mexican Food, Italian Food and other misc. foods. (My wife and I run a frozen burrito and misc. food company.) My goal in any business which I operate is to provide indisputable value to the end consumer. Drop me a line and let me know what you are into. Leave a comment on my blog with your comments stories and questions. Good luck finding or starting a killer Internet Marketing Service. To Your Success, Ted

Ned the Newbie, The Once Frustrated And Somewhat Desperate Marketer Learns The Target Traffic Drawing Power Of Search Engine Optimization

Ask Ned the Newbie about his online marketing background he will sheepishly tell you how pathetic he was and how he was the poster boy for the frustrated and desperate marketer, who didn’t have a single marketing muscle in his body. Then look out because once Ned tells you how bad he was he gets really wired and can’t stop talking about the search engine marketing strategy that turned his Internet Marketing experience into an enjoyable and profitable one. I really like Ned, probably because I see so much of myself in Ned. I think Ned found me just in time though, he had already started pulling his hair out and had his finger nails chewed to the quick by the time I got to sit with him. That was Ned, but not anymore, Ned is a new marketing man now. I like to ask the friends that want to learn from my experience questions that make them think. Open ended questions so they can’t get away with a YES or NO answer. This makes them think and actually learn more as they answer. Because I teach my clients how to do things for themselves I frequently ask open ended questions so I know they are understanding the strategies that will help them get what they want, which is targeted visitors to their web site.

Now let’s ask Ned the Newbie some questions and see if it helps you.

Ned does tend to get a bit excited and much like myself can start babbling and get off on tangents, so I will edit his responses to keep them direct and short.
:)James: Ned, what was the turning point in your online business? The point where you were losing money and the point where you started getting noticed? Ned: James when you taught me about optimizing my web pages for search engine traffic I stopped spending money and started learning search engine optimization, and after a few short weeks I was seeing the traffic increase yet I wasn’t advertising at all. James: Excellent, but you actually were still advertising, but instead of cash out of pocket it was a learning curve and you spent your time, which is still money, just not out of pocket, and that investment of time gives a great return on the invested time. James: Okay next question Ned. Do you have any idea of the money you saved by learning search engine optimization? Ned: I know that I didn’t make any money from my advertising or web site before learning from you, but I stopped paying for advertising when I started learning about keywords, content and search engine optimization. So for now I would say I have saved all my money. James: So you are saying that you really didn’t start seeing anything positive until you took the time to learn how to earn and build a list of target group subscribers? I did exactly the same thing until I learned about two really helpful forum owners, Mike Merz and Lynn Terry, from that night on my Internet life was changed for the better.

James: Next question Ned. How long did it take to see any positive results for what you have learned? Ned: This one is easy James. I started see changes in my own mental state almost immediately because I started understanding what I wasn’t doing that was causing all my stress. So there were positive results right away. The next results I noticed were in my cPanel (control panel) for my web site. There were visitor showing up and my advertising had stopped, yet my visitors were increasing. I wasn’t making any money yet, but I was getting more people to my site and even a few emails from interested visitors. It was almost a month before I put any money in my pocket and that moment goes down in history as the most positive thing that has happened to my online business. A definite turning point.
:)James: Thanks Ned, that was great and keep up the great job you are doing.

Increase Adsense Earnings By Quitting Smoking

I have been running the google adsense adverts on a number of my websites for around a year now. I have to admit that I am nowhere near the stage when I would be able to consider retiring on its income. I am quite envious of these people that you read about who are saying that they are earning two thousand dollars a week on the program but am fairly sure that most people would be happy to earn six hundred dollars a month.

What adsense has helped me to do, quite strangely enough, is to stop smoking.

I will explain how in this article. In the first couple of months after I had had added the google adsense code onto some of my websites, I would go and check how much it had earned on a particular day and would be happy if it was over ten dollars. The average daily figure at this stage was around five or six dollars. I wanted to find ways of attracting more visitors to these websites which in turn I believed would help me to increase my adsense earnings. I also thought about having a number of new sites built for the same reasons. One day I was very happy as I had made sixteen dollars, this was the most I had ever made in one day. I live in the UK and this would equate to be worth about nine pounds. Later that evening my wife asked if I would be willing to go to the shops to buy her some cigarettes. I was quite happy to go as I also needed to buy some for myself. When I arrived at the shop, I asked the shopkeeper for the forty cigarettes and he in return stated how much it would cost. This amount was more than the nine pounds I had made that day on adsense. Even though I was well aware of how much a packet of cigarettes would cost, this still came as a bit of a shock to me. There I am working very hard in an attempt to increase my adsense earnings and then go about throwing what money I have made down the drain by smoking these fags.

This was enough to give me the inspiration to stop smoking, I am not trying to say it is easy but knowing that over a course of a year I am likely to save around a thousand pounds was a big help to me. My wife has also been very determined and has managed to quit smoking. We now live in a much healthier environment and can now afford to have a holiday abroad each year.

Why Aren’t You Using Linkbait?

You’ve heard of the olden days when people would hunt for potential link partners. Well, those days are long gone and smart web masters are moving on to greater things, while decreasing their reciprocal link building effort.

If you are wondering what this new technique could be, it’s actually quite simple… in theory.

It is known as linkbaiting. This is a strategy that brings links to a website simply because of the unique and popular content on a website. With the rise of the blogosphere and social bookmarking sites, all it takes is one person to notice an interesting page and link to a site. Once a link is passed around once, it becomes easier for it to spread further. Bloggers around the net constanly use linkbait to encourage other bloggers to mention them or to get their content passed around the blogosphere. However, many traditional web masters have not quite latched on to this powerful technique. The benefits of creating quality, unique, or even controversial content go way beyond what one might first imagine. When a web site offers true value to the visitor, they can create hundreds and even thousands of backlinks without even asking. Unfortunately, simply having good, quality content on your site doesn’t always work. To gain the full potential of linkbaiting, you need a good hook. Some of the most popular ones include: News Controversy Resources and… Humor News Hook: Everyone loves to read about industry news. However, the key to attracting some real traffic is to add a twist to the latest news. Find out exactly how it affects your web site visitors. If you just give a rehashing of what everyone else has already said, no one will care. However, if you inject your own twist or personality into your news story, then you are prepared to catch someone’s eye.

Look at CNN.com as an example. What do they offer? They provide the latest news every day of the week. In the world of information that we live in, news is a commodity. Because CNN offers such appealing content, thousands of sites are linking to them. Do you think CNN sent these sites a little email asking if they would be interested in a reciprocal link? Of course not. Instead, they employ linkbaiting. Their fresh and interesting content automatically encourages other people to link to it. Luckily for us, we can use this same technique on our own web sites. News is one of the best ways to attract incoming links, especially if the news is controversial. Controversy Hook: Before we move on, I must warn you that this hook can be very powerful and also very dangerous. It involves contradicting what someone says, preferably someone very prominent in the industry. When used correctly, controversy can be very effective in bringing traffic to your site, but always be careful. To begin, look for articles and stories in your industry. Some of the best places to find this type of content is on blogs, news sites, and social bookmarking sites. Once you have found a good story, take an opposing viewpoint or give it some sort of twist. This will make your content stand out from the hum drum of what everyone else is publishing. The next hook is actually one of my favorites. It is known as the resource hook. Resource Hook: Information is powerful online. If you have information that is not available anywhere else, you become an authoritative resource. Many of these resources come in the form of a list. You would be surprised at the power of a list. You can organize: – a list of helpful tools that would be beneficial to your readers – a list of the best blogs in your niche – a list of popular news stories within your industry (When you are doing this kind of list, be sure to sprinkle in some of your own commentary) One of my favorite lists is located at http://www.

seocompany.ca/tool/seo-tools.html, where they offer over 150 SEO tools. Simply by linking out to their favorite SEO tools they get tons of traffic each and every day. Robin Good of MasterNewMedia is a webmaster who uses lists especially well. One of his most popular resource pages is a list of RSS and blog directories that webmasters can submit to. You can see it at: http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/ . However, not only does he show you over a hundred places where you can submit your blog and RSS feed, he also gives you an overview of each service, some commentary on which of these directories are the most influential, and exactly how to submit to each one. This one page alone has thousands of incoming links to it because it is an invaluable resource. Another popular resource hook is to create a useful online tool that your visitors can download for free. Once they have downloaded your free tool, let them rebrand it and give it away on their own sites. Humor Hook: Have you ever received a joke or some other sort of humor in your inbox? If you are like most people, then you probably have. Jokes, funny stories, and wierd pictures are some of the most viral hooks on the Internet. Within your own web site, you can add your own touch of humor. However, you must make sure that it fits with your personality. People on the internet want to see your true self. Many companies have made their web sites an impersonal void. This is not the way the web works. The Web is an engaging and interactive community of people. When you start giving your web site some personality, people will start taking notice. The ordinary is simply too easy to pass over. Another key to remember when employing linkbaiting is that your article or news story should almost always link out to leading industry web sites or influential bloggers.

There are so many web sites who are afraid to link out to other sites. However, by mentioning other web sites and bloggers, you would be surprised at the number of people who start linking to you. Bloggers are a group of web masters who realize the power of linking to others. Within the blogoshpere, links are spread willingly to those who provide great content. As a result, they all receive more traffic than they would alone. Final Verdict The term linkbaiting itself may sound a little fishy, but it’s not. If you are a good web master, you should always strive for your content to be linkbait. This simply means that your content is of such quality that others simply can’t help but link to it.

The Benefits of «Brain»-Storming for your Business

Marketing On The Playground (TM) As a business owner there are many things we learn along the way — especially if we’re forging a new path.

When someone suggested that I do separate Brainstorming groups as part of my business I thought, «Why, that’s so easy — who would pay for such a thing? Everyone knows how to brainstorm!» Here is what I have learned in a nutshell. Brainstorming is an art and for some, a learned skill. It needs to be planned, orchestrated, timed, intentional, focused and very specific. Specific meaning, the more targeted the question is for receiving ideas, the better ideas you will receive. Let me give you a few examples of the benefits of brainstorming: 1) Several years ago a friend of mine was struggling in his business. He lived alone, had his office in his home and he became very isolated. I suggested he ask for help, find someone he could bounce ideas off of and possibly partner with for workshops. His reply: «I have to do it alone, otherwise I won’t feel like a true success.» My reply to you, the reader: If you do not allow ideas, teamwork and partnerships to come into your business, you are robbing yourself and your business of the depth, inspiration, creativity and fun you and your business deserve. 2) Sitting at my desk last year I was trying to figure out what I could add to my business — what program would be beneficial for my clients as I was looking through their feedback. One of my Success Team members called at that moment and I told her of my challenge. She said, «You love brainstorming, you use it in your marketing program, why don’t you just do brainstorming groups?» As you read earlier, it seemed too easy and something I thought everyone did as a normal part of their day. My business has now added Women’s «Brain»-Storming On The Playground(TM) and Women’s TELE «Brain»-Storming On The Playground)TM) (conference teams over the phone) Tip: Don’t overlook the obvious, the things we do well everyday.

You have a gift to share and don’t think it’s not worth something. It takes others around you to see the ideas — we are too close to them. Open yourself up to receiving and asking for help. 3) I was invited to speak at my networking group. I took a look at my current table display and realized it was not the most professional it could be. I brought a very focused question to my Success Team for ideas that would fit my programs, fit my colors and make a fun display. The comments I received and the looks on people’s faces told me I (my team) hit the nail on the head.

But the greatest gift of all was my pride in the creation and hearing how much I had grown in my business.

Tip: Receive lots of ideas, rate each one for the right fit and your excitement level, then put them into ACTION. I did not create a rating system for my clients until I found out they were taking their entire page of ideas and leaving them on their desk when they returned to their office. They had too many and were very overwhelmed. Brainstorming is pointless if you do not take ACTION! Walk away with 1 or 2 ideas you love, take action and make it happen! Here are some rules and tips for brainstorming:  No one gets to be wrong and Everyone gets to be right.  No storytelling — brainstorming is meant to be short and quick — like a brain dump.  No kyboshing of ideas — receive your ideas with excitement even if you’ve heard or done them before. Judgment and negativity takes away the energy that’s created with the sharing of ideas and energy leads to more creativity and fun. Pay attention and really focus on the question. If the question is not specific enough ask for clarity. Example on Focus and Listening: As I was leaving my house one morning I asked, «Does my blouse look better tucked in or left out?» The answer I received was «You are wearing very monochromatic colors today.» I restated the question and received the following answer: «It looks better tucked in and you are wearing very monochromatic colors today.

» (quite the comedian)  Whether you are in person or on the phone, sit forward. Relaxed posture promotes a relaxed brain. You want to be sharp!  Listen to the questions and ideas going around your group. It is amazing what you will learn from the questions your teammates ask.  Keep your brainstorming to a short time frame, 10, 15 or 20 minutes per person.  Above all, HAVE FUN! Be silly with your ideas. The silliest has often been the beginning of the BEST. Let brainstorming enhance your business. Bring energy, inspiration and FUN into your day and life. You have no idea the partnerships and creativity that are waiting for you around the «Brain»-Storming corner.

Titus Hoskins Successful websites extend their reach far and wide! They build links, connections, partnerships, or use whatever means they can to extend the reach of their sites. By extending their reach, these websites create greater exposure, bringing in more targeted traffic, leads and sales. You should do the same with your site. It will greatly increase the importance of your site – boosting name recognition and increasing your site’s visibility. Lets look at a real life comparison, ever build a large patio or outdoor deck onto your house and suddenly realize you have not only doubled the floor plan but you have also changed the very nature of the house itself. Or you build a gazebo or a guest house on your property… and suddenly you and your visitors have a different view or opinion of your property. In fact, you have expanded the reach of your property by building these extensions. Think of your website in the same light – by building simple extensions you can change how your site is viewed and judged by others; resulting in many positive benefits. Little things that are so simple to do, yet it can have far reaching implications for your site. You can, in fact, extend the reach of your site to all corners of the globe. Here are some of the best techniques for extending the reach of your site, some of these are very simple, some a little more complex: Article Writing Get one way targeted links placed all over the web by writing simple ‘how to’ articles on the topic or theme of your site. Extend the reach of your site by simply including your live links in the author’s resource box at the end of your articles. Simple and very easy to do – just try it! Viral Desktop Applications You can extend the reach of your site by placing links directly onto the desktops of your visitors by offering them simple desktop applications like wallpaper, software programs, or ecalendars, like the DATEwise desktop eCalendar (see below). These are great for building brand recognition. Old Fashion Link Building Finding related websites and asking for reciprocal links is still one of the best ways to extend your site.

Takes a bit of hard work but it pays off big time. And don’t forget about testimonials, simple little recommendations about a site or product, these can be great link building opportunities. Bookmarks Make sure you have a bookmark link on all your pages. You might also want to make a favicon – small logo that goes with your bookmarks. And subtly ask those who bookmark your site to place a shortcut on their desktops. Internet Marketing and the Psychology of Color

I briefly touched on this subject in a previous e-book titled «The Forgotten Fundamentals of SEO» and I have been asked by a few people to expand and explain more about the psychology of color and how it affects what you should be for your website from a marketing perspective. The internet is the ultimate visual and psychological medium. It provides businesses with an unparalleled avenue to reach potential customers. In this visually engrossing world it is the copy, or words, on your website that have the greatest psychological impact on visitors and given this they become your most important communication and sales tool. Another important psychological aspect of your website is the often over looked and definitely misunderstood marketing strategy of colors.

The same as we use words and phrases to describe and express our intentions color can be used to convey similar messages in more subtle and concealed ways. As an example of a color being used to convey a feeling, when I was at University they painted the walls in the library a light pastel-pink color to try and enhance the studying environment. Did it work? I really don’t know, I was in the computer lab, but I am guessing that subliminally there was probably some impact whether it be physically measurable or not. In the past choosing color schemes for websites used to be left up to the programmer who was responsible for just getting something up and running. Often there was no forethought or planning for real graphic design or image perception. «A simple site, nothing fancy». I am fairly certain that every web developer has been asked for something like this, I know I have. If you really want to succeed in 2007+ then this kind of website will just not work. Given the competitive nature of the Internet market, there has been a steady influx of Internet marketing professionals who are looking to stamp their mark on the ever increasingly competitive keyword monopoly game.

Every day there businesses employ Internet marketing agencies to employ their expert marketing strategies to their business.

Often these are for huge fees. One area that I see getting missed during these expensive website makeovers is the psychology of color. I believe it is important to address this marketing issue in design and ensure it the colors chosen are enhancing and supporting the overall theme and feel of the website in an effort to get the website visitor to perform the action we actually want them to do on our website; be it contact us on email, buy a product or feel comfortable browsing our articles and reading the news. So what colors should we be incorporating into our website designs to ensure we convey the right message to our visitors? I have detailed a list of colors and their associated feelings and keywords so you can get an idea or what to put on your webpages. RED is associated with love, passion, danger, warning, excitement, food, impulse, action, adventure. BLUE is associated with trustworthiness, success, seriousness, calmness, power, professionalism. GREEN is associated with money, nature, animals, health, healing, life, harmony. ORANGE is associated with comfort, creativity, celebration, fun, youth, affordability. PURPLE is associated with royalty, justice, ambiguity, uncertainty, luxury, fantasy, dreams. WHITE is associated with innocence, purity, cleanliness, simplicity.

YELLOW is associated with curiosity, playfulness, cheerfulness, amusement. PINK is associated with softness, sweetness, innocence, youthfulness, tenderness. BROWN is associated with earth, nature, tribal, primitive, simplicity. GREY is associated with neutralality, indifference, reserved. BLACK is associated with seriousness, darkness, mystery, secrecy. When choosing colors for your site it is important to employ contrasting or sympathetic and complementary color schemes. It is important to identify your market and ensure the psychological message you are trying to get across with the rest of your site design, words and images is complemented and enhanced by the appropriate color scheme. Often it can be wise to run samples of the same site with slightly differing colour schemes past a test audience and see which has the best impact or you can even run differing coloured sites to visitors and track conversions to your goals. Its really up to you how to try and test or track the impact of your psychological color message on your Internet Marketing.

Web Marketing Services UK: Making More Money From Your Site

Ask anyone involved in an online business about the reason behind the success of their business and the unanimous reply would be great web marketing. Here are some tips which shall help you get more out of your online business. The first and foremost thing before you start online marketing UK is to make sure that your site is as user friendly as possible. unless the site is not user friendly, it is not going to be successful. People might visit it for some time but soon they may get confused and so put off that they may never come back In the extreme case, they may even start some negative publicity against your website. Similarly you must optimise your site for fast speed. The Internet connection speeds vary from user to user. You must make sure that the end user with a slow dial up connection is able to surf your site without having to wait too much. The second thing is to decide the focus of your website and stick. Web marketing UK experts inform us that unless a site is clearly focused on someone or something, it is nothing more than a waste of storage space and bandwidth. A properly focused site is much easier to optimise as the site already has a number of keywords as well as the content about that topic. There is not much work to be done. On the other hand a poorly focused site shall become the search engine optimiser’s nightmare. He just does not understand what he is supposed to optimise the site for.

The net result is that he ends up doing something of everything but it does not do any thing because nothing is done properly enough to be effective. Similarly another thing that experts from website marketing company UK tell us is that have a properly organized site structure. Unless and until the site is properly organized it is just not possible for any online marketing UK based experts can not prepare it for people to use. Turn Your Passion into Business Marketing Success

Marketing On The Playground (TM) Words I have heard repeated consistently from successful entrepreneurs are ”… you have to love what you do to be a success” or “…whatever you do, do what you love.” I am here to validate those words and uphold their significance and impact. Have you found you would like something much more gratifying in your career? – Branching out into your own business but you’re not exactly sure what you want to do or, – Knowing what you want but not very excited about the marketing part of having a business? There are many research sources available online or right in your own community. You will find great statistics and programs available to help you with your search.

I will provide you with an additional approach. The importance of following your passions and your strengths is second to none. I’ll share my experience with you. I wanted to have my own business, make my own hours and be filled with gratification in the work (passion) I was providing. In my career search I found Personal and Professional Life Coaching. It definitely brought the gratification and passion I was seeking, however, marketing was the last thing I wanted to do. I remember saying to myself, months and even a year into my business, “who did I think I was that I could leave corporate life and start my own business? I’m going back to the work I know.” Yes, I knew the work, but it was no longer satisfying. Thankfully, my inner voice challenged me, and I began to look inside at my strengths and passions. I compared what I knew of myself to what I was doing. They didn’t match up. Four questions came to my mind at that time and continue to surface periodically: – What do I want? – What do I need? – What was giving me energy? – What was taking my energy? After taking a good look at myself, my business, and the path I was on, I realized the only part of passion I was following was helping others in their business and even that was very generic. When I began to follow MY strengths, MY passions and MY style, a niche was born…Marketing On The Playground (TM). Here was the turning point: I gave myself permission to market MY WAY and have since created programs to help others market THEIR WAY! Isn’t it funny how those things we repel can become something we embrace when we choose to look at it through different doorways. I knew I enjoyed humor, play, color, helping women in their business and being unique. At the time, I just didn’t know how to integrate what I enjoyed into a business, not to mention, LOVE every minute of it. By focusing on the approach that works for ME, a fun, dynamic and gratifying business is evolving.

We have all heard the phrase, “you can’t see the forest for the trees”.

This seems to be a consistent challenge to all of us — I’m including myself. Do not discount the most obvious in your strengths and your foundation. Stop and look at what you have accomplished, the expertise you have and the network of professionals you have at your fingertips. I.E. Have you come from a nursing background and want to go into your own business? Look at the pieces you have and develop what YOU want from your background and foundation. Check out LeaRae Keyes, RN, Executive Director of www.nurse-entrepreneur-network.org. Take a look at what she has created from her background and expertise. Here is another tip for you. Do you think we create our businesses alone? Even though we have our home offices or an office space outside of the home, we are human beings – we need interaction, a pat on the back and different ideas to bring substance, quality and fun into our lives and our work. DON’T DO IT ALONE! Create a success team. I have been meeting with my success team every week for the last three years. I would not be where I am today without them. I cannot say this enough — Whatever you do, do what you LOVE! Thank you for the opportunity to share these tips with you – I wish you well in your business journey.

Don’t forget; give yourself permission to create your business/passion.

I have no doubt of your success when following your passions and strengths.

Adsense Marketing – Black Hat Vs. White Hat Strategies

Richard Adams I came across an interesting discussion on a marketing forum recently that I’d like to relay to you now. In it, Adsense marketers were discussing what percentage of their sites are white hat and which are black hat. As an aside for a moment, a «white hat» website refers to it being «squeeky clean» and following all the search engine rules – a hand-built site offering original content and a quality experience for visitors.

«Black hat» sites, in contrast, utilize many «underhanded» or «didgy» techniques such as «borrowing» content in the form of articles, search engine results, RSS feeds and forum posts then using automated software to spit out hundreds if not thousands of low quality pages in a matter of minutes. The search engines generally frown on these «black hat» techniques as they fill up their listings with hundreds of «junk» sites and make it increasingly hard for them to do their jobs – providing high quality results so users can find exactly what they’re looking for quickly and easily. The claim by one marketer was that white hat sites take a long time to build (he’s right) and they are often penalized just as much by the search engines, so why bother? The answer to that question is twofold. Firstly, in my experience, a properly built and marketed white hat site won’t be penalized in the search engines (unless the owner decides to try some gray-area marketing tricks). The second part of the answer is that black hat Adsense marketing is an arms race. In nature species evolve to try and better each other’s weapons. A plant develops poisonous sap to try and prevent insects from eating it’s leaves.

But then a caterpillar develops a way to «filter out» the toxins, so it can still eat the leaves, and then uses the toxins to make itself poisonous.

In doing so it makes itself less attractive to predators and so actually is likely to live longer. And so the never-ending battle continues. If you take part in black hat strategies you must resign yourself to the fact that you will be the predator or worse, the parasite, in this arms race whilst the search engines represent the provider. They continue to develop new techniques at a dizzying pace to remove black hat Adsense sites from their listings (and so reduce the income of those marketers) whilst the marketers themselves try to develop ever more powerful ammunition to try and go unnoticed. If you’re happy with constantly having sites delisted or even banned, and having to constantly rebuild your network then go ahead, but remember that white hat sites have been, and continue to be, perrenial winners with the search engines. And that’s likely to continue for a long time yet.

The Most Obvious Secret In Affiliate Marketing

Everyone wants to get ahead of the game, and it’s common that people have used unscrupulous methods, spam and scams to achieve those ends. I would like to suggest that you don’t have to do those, and all it takes is one thing, the best kept secret in affiliate marketing! If you realize, affiliate marketing is a simple thing to do. You merely find a hot product in a market, and drive traffic that converts. Your cost of promotion will turn up to be really a way to help you to make profits. It’s just a business expense. At the end of the day, people who forget the aim of affiliate marketing will get extremely frustrated and confused. Is it really just about putting up Google pay-per-click ads? Or is it about using search engine optimization? In my opinion, the most obvious secret in affiliate marketing is really the idea of being an “affiliate”.

What does it mean? Affiliating means you create some kind of relationship with the people you connect with. It describes the closeness that you have with people. After all, if you are using affiliate marketing, isn’t it important for you connect with people? So let me ask: do you call your affiliates? Do you contact people to meet them up face to face? Sure, there are constraints, but consider the possibilities. As an affiliate marketer, there are three concrete ways to enhance your relationship with your affiliates. First, give them a priority call on a regular basis. Once you feel that you have a good fit with your affiliates, call them to let them know how important it is for you to have a connection with them. Often, teleseminars can be run to develop a positive learning atmosphere with your audience while allowing a guest to come on the call to contribute. If you want to learn about teleseminars, the best person in the industry is probably my friend, Alex Mandossian. You can find him at Second, understanding what they are able to do, and write about them on a regular basis so as to beef up their credibility in the eyes of your audience. While you might think this is a complete waste of time, it’s a process known as ‘edification’.

When you edify a person positively, they gain credibility.

It also helps you foster a positive relationship with them. One person I know who talks about this a lot is Matt Morris, the founder and CEO of Success University. You can find out what his business is (hint – it has got everything to do with “affiliating”) at Third, help plug any gaps they might have. It’s always useful to help other people to plug in their gaps, especially if there are problems with some area of their business. Do it discreetly. Many times, however, a small gesture like this can bring you a very long way.

Emotionally Empower Your Life

In order to completely empower your life, it is essential to understand the mental blueprints that are presently evolving in your mind. When I speak about mental blueprints, I’m referring to the way you believe things, your childhood memories, and everything else that is influenced you up to now. Unfortunately, it is difficult to create empowerment unless you have the right kinds of tools. And the fact of the matter is, that most people will try to achieve this sense of empowerment, utilizing very typical and ineffective methods that eventually lead to disappointment and disillusionment. One such method is positive thinking. Sure, positive thinking does have its place in personal development. However, most people do not know how to utilize it effectively. Imagine that you’re overweight and you need to tone yourself up. One of the ways that positive thinking espouses is for you to think of how more joyful you ought to be. Well, most people would just implement that through wishful thinking. They don’t want to experience the need to change in order to exercise in order to lose weight. They just want to lose weight. In other words, they want to feel good by a being at the end of the process rather than going through the process.

It is the process that strengthens us. It helps us to understand what we are capable of and what we can do. It’s the whole journey that is more educating than the destination. Neurolinguistic programming is very much like that. Rather than focusing on the and outcome alone, we tend to focus on the processes that you can use. It therefore means that you will be in greater control of your life. Wouldn’t it be nice if you were able to manage any obstacle and handle any crisis your life? Wouldn’t it be great if you could become more efficient in what you do? NLP can help you develop all this because it is the science of studying what actually works. If anything has happened before, it can happen again. What someone has achieved, so can you. NLP is the science of modeling. This fascinating field was generally only made available to people who were extremely wealthy and could travel halfway across the world to learn from the leading developers of NLP. However, today, it becomes easier to learn NLP because all you need to do is to pick up a phone and listen in. I have started to devise more channels to share NLP with other people across the world and therefore invite you to learn how this very powerful tool can assist you in achieving personal excellence.

More importantly, if there has been a strategy that has enabled someone to overcome something in their lives and lead them to a more empowering life, that would be probably something for you to pay attention to.

All you need to do, is to visit http://www.NLPTeleseminars.com and start getting involved early so that you can develop NLP skills way ahead of everyone else. During our teleseminars, you will learn how NLP can empower you and make you far more in control of your life then before. And all it takes, is for you to pick up a telephone.

Web Traffic – Is Your Content Making Your Web Site Invisible?

Angela Booth We Web content writers lead quiet lives peering at a computer monitor and tapping a keyboard. I even eat lunch at the keyboard, because it means that I can do some relaxing Web surfing without feeling guilty. So drama was the last thing I expected on a cold winter’s day when I bit into my peanut butter, raisin, and celery sandwich, and grabbed the ringing phone with my other hand. A woman I didn’t know sobbed into my ear: «My boss says our Web site’s a disaster. We’re not getting any visitors at all…. and I’m going to be fired.» I tried to tell her that it couldn’t be that bad, and even if it was, we’d fix it, but it took ten minutes for her to calm down enough to tell me what the URL (Web address) was.

When I looked at the site, I had a pretty good idea why her boss was mad. It was a real estate site. Very nice. Tasteful — elegant even. But clicking around the site, I could see that while artistically the site was fine, as a commercial Web site, it had big challenges. No wonder the site wasn’t getting any traffic. The site was almost invisible to the search engines. At a guess, the site would be lucky to get five visitors a day, unless the real estate company bought traffic via Pay Per Click or other advertising. Unfortunately, it turns out that they’d already spent too much on the site. Unless the sobbing lady got the site to do what had been promised by the developers — get at least a thousand visitors a day and FAST — her job was history. Here’s what I found on the site: A Flash intro to the site Flash animation was popular several years ago, but its popularity died when site owners realized that most Flash is just annoying. When someone comes to your site, they want information, and they want it right away. Big images on every page The images looked lovely, gorgeous homes, but only a few words of text. From a search engine standpoint, there was nothing to index on the pages. Almost no text Again, with very little text, there was nothing for search engines to index, and therefore no chance that the site would get traffic from the site search engines. NO «real estate»-related keywords The site was called (not the real name, this name is fictitious) «Thomas Fedeck Green and Smythe Incorporated». This name was on every page. I’m sure that the name was well known to the real estate buyers in the company’s home city, but it meant nothing to most Web surfers, and worse — there was nothing connecting «Thomas Fedeck Green and Smythe Incorporated» with the keywords «real estate». Worse yet, someone had decided to create images of each property’s listing so that a very fancy font could be used. Again, nothing for the Web search engines to index.

Flash movies Every listing on the site was accompanied by a Flash movie of the property, with an agent showing off the features of each property. My recommendation: get some text onto each and every page «The site’s fine,» I assured my caller, whose sobs had calmed down. «You just need material for the Web search engines to index. The engines aren’t psychic. They don’t know what your site is about. You have to tell them in words. Get some words onto the site — words about real estate, and you’ll get traffic in no time.» The happy ending: a rapid uptick in traffic I developed a Web content plan for the site, and within a few weeks the site got an excellent uptick in traffic. The traffic’s been steadily growing. My caller wasn’t fired. When I heard from her just a few days ago, she’d been made a partner. A happy ending all around — and a site that was made visible at last.

Submitting Your Website To Directories For Free

What is the one thing webmasters the world over wants for their websites? They want their websites to be visible on the net! And what better way to do this than to have their websites included in site listings and search engines. Most search engines only list websites depending on the key words or Meta tags you put on your site. But then there are sites that go further and categorize the listings that make it easy for most to find the sites they are looking for, if the site is list within the site listing or search engine. With a category listing, imagine how much easier it is to find what you want and other sites of similar categories. You could be looking for PDA (personal digital assistant) and click on the category PDA and instantly get a listing of websites that sell, review, or support personal digital assistants. Or how about when you want to have a few laughs? There are thousands upon thousands of joke and comedy sites out there but how do you find them? This is where site listings and search engines come in handy. Site listing is mostly a free service offered by many search engines. Most sites ask you to fill in a form, asks you for Meta tags for easy searching, and you will be required to wait for at least 24 hours for your site to appear in their search engine. However, there is also such a thing as a “premiere listing”. This means that the webmaster will be charged a fee (anywhere from $2 up) to have his website listed on the first page when the searcher inputs his keywords. One premiere feature is called “feature listing”. A featured site appears not only in the regular listing, but also in a special section, often at the top or the right margin of the screen. For example, you might type “spam blockers” and when you look at the listed results, you may see recipes for Spam luncheon meat in the feature boxes. This means SPAM paid for this feature listing. Oftentimes, these websites ask for a feature called a “link exchange”. As you submit your site to them for inclusion in their website, a script is provided to you for inclusion in your site. This often manifests as either a text link or a banner or button, which, upon clicking, will bring you to their website.

This link exchange also helps them in monitoring the incoming traffic of your website. Some sites offer daily web statistics, while others only give them to you upon your request. Don’t just sit on your hands and hope someone finds your website. Submit the URL of your website to site listing and be seen. Key in the appropriate key words and Meta tags or categorize your website properly to increase your visibility on the net. Site listings and search engines work. Do a “web search” on anything, test their features, and be one of many who has submitted their websites for inclusion. I know I have.

How to Improve Your Directory Submission Acceptance Rate?

Unlike Search Engines, the process of review of directory submission is carried out manually, by “Experts”. They also have stringent rules and guidelines for listing your site. You may ask why; but these rules are there to ensure good directory submission and effective review procedures. It helps the editor to evaluate a site decide whether to accept or reject it. All these combined results in a great deal of scrutiny being carried out before your site gets listed on directories.

But you can easily make your submissions an instant success with most of the directories. All you need to do is pay a little attention to the details you provide for Directory Submission. Your little efforts will be richly rewarded. Here are few Golden rules you should always follow before beginning Directory Submission. Before You Begin Directory Submission Before you begin directory submission, make you have taken note of the following: • Do not submit a mirror page; most directories don’t accept mirror pages. • Do not submit any “Under construction” pages. • Always submit the top-level domain of your site. For example: The correct URL to submit for my site is www.submit2please.com. Do not add index.html or any sub domains. • Check all your links. Broken links are a sign poor site management which may not go down well with the directories. Chose the most appropriate Category for your site Web directories are sorted by topic and editors frequently take great pride in ensuring that everything stays well categorized. So, put up your website in the right category. The search engines look at the various links that are on the page on which you are listed. This can lead to better rankings. Tip: To find appropriate categories for a site, you can go to Dmoz.org and type in the product/service keyword. You can also search for your rival site and check out the category under which they are submitted. Pay attention to the description and use of key words The most common restriction forced by directories is on the size of your description keywords. The trick is to come up with such a description for your site that can conveniently fit into 100, 150, 200, and 250 characters length. Do all this before you get down to the real job of directory submission.

The reason for keeping four lengths of description is that you never know which one will be accepted in which directory. Remember that you may not be able to pen down everything about your site, so write what is unique and relevant. Avoid using a sales pitch and/or promotional language. Try be informative friendly. Here are few more points you should always bear in mind while writing a description for directory submission: • Do not repeat your title or site URL in the description. • Do not use all caps; use mixed case. • Use complete sentences. • Do not say the word site or website, as in “this site offers” • Do not use any hype like “the best” or “excellent.” • Fit your main keyword phrases in but do not repeat them. Once you have taken care of all these, you have over come the most difficult part of directory submission. The same should be followed for keywords. When it comes to directory submission, all you need to do is to pick up the most appropriate one and hit enter. Tip: This is what I call an ideal description for my site Submit2Please.com, “We submit Web Sites, Articles, Blogs, Press Releases, Scripts and RSS Feeds to Search Engine Friendly Directories.

The directory submission is carried out manually by trained in-house directory submission experts.

” Site Title Pay attention to your site title. You should ideally not use any URL key words in it, until unless they are absolutely necessary to describe your site. Remember, be precise straight forward! Tip: You should identify at least 3-4 titles for your site rotate them during Directory Submission. In this way you can get the maximum optimization benefit for your site through Directory Submission. All the above mentioned “Golden Rules” stand good for most directories on the internet including Dmoz.org. Thus, by exercise necessary caution before directory submission, you can save a lot of precious time and energy. With the right advice and steps, directory submission may be the most significant thing you will ever do for your website.

Video Communications the New Age Marketing Tool

Jenni Baty If you’re a small business, you know how hard it is to compete against larger, wealthier competitors. Indeed, today’s small businesses face a dilemma. While they need to sell their products and services as much as any Global 1000 company, many lack the marketing resources big firms take for granted. For example, large companies have highly aggressive sales people driving sales. These people contact customers and prospects regularly, reminding them of a product’s or service’s existence as well as its advantages and benefits. Unfortunately, many small businesses lack the resources to do this and employing other traditional marketing methods, like print advertising and direct mail, is not always financially feasible either.

To compensate small businesses must find a way to ratchet up their marketing communications programs. What’s needed is a dynamic, cost-effective way of marketing products and services, one that helps small businesses battle competitors and capture market share. The Internet has been a viable alternative marketing method for small business. Publishing a Web site is a proven way of selling one’s products and services, and an effective means of reaching a worldwide marketplace. In fact, it costs less to build a site than most people think, particularly when compared to the cost of rent for an off-line business. Web sites also offer benefits other marketing tools don’t, such as regular contact with customers and prospects and the ability to convey large amounts of information quickly and easily. In addition, Web sites offer consumers access to a company’s products and services twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, all year long. But Web sites have one major drawback— anonymity. Consumers are reluctant to buy from someone they don’t know. Other drawbacks include the possibility of misinterpreting the marketing message, the limitations in demonstrating product’s features, and the difficulties of incorporating customer service. Even adding e-mails to the marketing mix doesn’t always help. While email marketing is a cost-effective to send, easy to create, and fast to distribute, they’re often boring, making little impact on the viewer. And the proliferation of e-mails means that your marketing message often gets lost in the clutter. Video communications, which includes video e-mails, video streaming, and live Web casts, represents the next wave of marketing for small business. It’s proving to be so powerful it’s revamping the way businesses communicate with customers and each other. Simple and easy to use, video communications puts a human touch back into the process of communicating with consumers, enabling sales reps, consultants, and professionals to generate “face time” with consumers, clients, and businesses without spending a great deal of time and money.

It’s a win-win situation for all involved, and it’s proving highly effective for small business. Video communications is ideal where personal communications is an advantage. Even political candidates are using it to communicate with their constituencies. Howard Dean, for example, helped transformed the face of presidential politics by being one of the first candidates to harness the power of the Internet. Dean broke new ground by being among the first presidential candidates to use streaming video on his Web site to communicate broadly and successfully with American voters. One of the most effective uses of video communications is video e-mail, which the corporate world is quickly embracing. Once dismissed as a gimmick, video e-mail is now making in-roads into business communications. As the technology has been refined and costs reduced, Global 1000 corporations have begun using video e-mails to reach target audiences. Sheridan Square Entertainment, a New York-based firm, employs video e-mail not only for corporate interoffice communications, but also as a way for its artists to communicate directly with their fans. With offices in four U.S. cities, using video e-mail cuts down on flying time and its associated costs while generating awareness and visibility. Organizations such as the Miami Dolphins, DaimlerChrysler AG, and Eli Lily use video-e-mail for everything from internal announcements to market surveys. They also use the technology for sales training, public relations, customer updates, and product releases. Using video e-mails and adding streaming video to your Web site is simple and easy. In fact, it’s as easy as sending text e-mails, and cutting and pasting text. Most small businesses already have all the necessary skills to send video e-mails and post streaming video online.

And thanks to the emergence of video portals, offering video e-mail, video on demand, video instant messaging, and live Web casts, businesses now have a mechanism for sending video communications to buyers quickly and easily without investing a lot in additional software or computer equipment and without the platform incompatibility or long download problems associated with Windows Media Player, Real Player, or Apple QuickTime.

In addition, proprietary bandwidth protection enables videos to stream at the speed most appropriate to each viewer’s connection.

Video is a boon to business marketing. It provides small businesses with an economical yet powerful way to reach buyers. Delivering the impact of television, it generates higher click-through rates and increases brand recognition, as well as shortening the sales cycle. Simple and easy to use, video communications is the ideal way for small business to compete against firms with more resources. It gives them a powerful competitive edge that other businesses don’t have, and it’s becoming the accepted way of delivering personal rich media. More important, it boosts sales and profits. If you’re a small business, you can’t afford not to use video communications to market your company.

Make a Fortune Online

A quick way to make money online with little to no work would be to use AdSense on your website.

In this article, we will look at some different ways to generate income through AdSense. Google will place ads on your website with keywords delineated by various advertisers and are then matched to the site on your content. You will make money every time someone who visits your site clicks on one of those ads. They provide you with filters that allow you to decide whose ads you want on your website this allows you not to have your competitor’s ad appear on the site. Content is very important when creating a website but if you have great content and a weak design you will lose money instead of make it. Take a little extra time to make sure the ads you use with AdSense are correct and you will be pleased with the financial results you receive. When designing the ads make sure that they blend into the color of your content. This gives the illusion to those visiting your site that the ads support the information that they are reading about and they will be more apt at clicking on them to find out more. You may want to consider changing the color of the background and links so that it matches the color on your website. Another advantage you have with color is that you can change it frequently in a way the visitors think there is something new then they will keep returning to see what you have added. Consider using the AdSense ads as captions. When this is done, it draws the eye of the consumer through the text and increases the chances that the ad will be clicked on. Borders will separate the ads from the content and if that is what you want then fine, but if not know that this will work against your attempts at trying to integrate your ads with the content of your website. Knowing this you should be careful not to use any of the preset borders that often come with packages.

Now that you have your website, running with AdSense you may also want to include AdLinks. With this, the visitor to your site will click on the links that will then take them to sites that have content that is related to your site and this of course will increase the amount of money that you will be bringing in. You may want to consider putting a web search on your site. This will add greater functionality for your visitors and increase your revenue. The advantage to this is that visitors to your site will not need to leave to do a search for the information they are looking and the longer they are on your site the greater chance there is of them clicking on one of your ads.

Article Marketing and Content Cheapskates

I see this everywhere and still cannot believe that people do not get it. Content is still king on the web. The most important thing you will ever do for your website is to put in good content. Great content will get you links and your position in the search engine results will be because of the content you put into your website. Hundreds of back links will not get you ranked well with poor content. Great content will get you good keyword positioning with or without back links, therefore, content is still the most important aspect of your website. Great design, flash, graphics, and a cool banner will not get you ranked well for your keywords and phrases. Great content will! Let’s first look at the content in your website. Images are great with alt tags. That helps. But it is the text on the pages that, when done correctly, will help your search engine results.

This text is also what will convert your customers into sales. This text is what your customers will read or not read based on it’s quality. This same text is what the search engines will analyze when they decide how relevant your WebPages are to the search phrase you wish them to send you visitors from. Now, let us talk about article marketing. If you know about article marketing at all, you know you will be submitting articles all over the web. The links in the author bio at the bottom return visitors to your website if they read and like the articles, you write or have written for you. Just having your articles in thousands of article directories is not the goal of article marketing, although there are article-marketing gurus out there who think it is. The goal is for webmasters to find those articles and place them in their blogs and websites. If they use your article, their website or blog is likely related to the same topic as your website. You are looking for these quality links. The links for just being in the article directories do not hurt you, but they do not help nearly as much as those from related websites do. Your other hope is that thousands of people read your articles.

Do you really want people to read poorly written articles and associate that poor quality with your website? Well-written articles get people to read them all the way to the bottom where your links are located.

Well-written articles reflect well on your website. If the articles are of great quality then likely your products and services must be great as well. The reverse is also true in the reader’s minds. If the articles are written poorly, then likely your products and services are of little or no value as well. It is not only about the number of keywords and phrases placed into the article folks. With all of that being said, I still find all over the web, especially at freelancer websites, people going in and saying things like; «I need 400 articles written for SEO and I’m willing to pay $1.50 per article.» Or they say something like; «I need someone to write content for my website and I’m only willing to pay $10 per page.» I really try to refrain from telling people they are, well . . . stupid, but I am finding it harder and harder each day when I read this stuff. They will spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars to have their website designed so it looks really pretty, but the text, the stuff that will actually get good search engine results and sales, they don’t want to spend any money on. Writers that know how to write text that not only is appealing to the reader, but that is also written with the keywords and phrases in mind, are worth being paid well. The moment you start hiring better writers and paying for text that converts sales, you will begin to be successful on the web.

That cheap content is not going to make you any money. A website that is beautiful but gets no traffic and sales may as well be an ugly website. An ugly website that ranks well in the search engine and that makes sales gets more beautiful by the dollar.

Best Online Marketing Techniques

I have been in internet marketing for over ten years and have seen marketing techniques come and go. Some are still around and some are new and innovative.

Below you will find what I believe to be the best and most effective online marketing techniques. Article Marketing – Article marketing was and is one of the most powerful online marketing methods available. Not only does it do wonders for you and your business, it is free as well! Article marketing consists of writing helpful, informative, easy to understand articles that actually help your readers, not try to sell them something. Then you submit them to article banks, directories and ezine publishers. When your article runs in a popular ezine, it can do great things for your business. Writing articles is not as hard as you might think so give it a try. You will be delightfully surprised at how much it can affect your business. Remember: Don’t worry about fancy words. People are looking for help, not big words. Advertise in your resource box, not your article. Provide real, helpful info and resources, hot hype! Write from the heart! Let your personality shine through in your articles. Blogging – Blogging is a newer form of online marketing that just started becoming popular in the late 90’s. Blog is short for weblog and means an online publication in the form of a log or journal. Blogs can increase your customer base, your traffic and your search engine ranking, thus increasing your sales. Blogging can be done for free through such sites as: blogger.com wordpress.com and livejournal.com Be sure and update your blog regularly; everyday would be best as people like fresh content, ideas and information. Ezine Publishing – Ezine publishing has been around much longer than blogging and is far more effective, in my opinion. Your ezine needs to contain helpful resources and information, not just sales pitches. Develop a relationship with your readers. Let them know they can trust you and rely on you when they need your help. Things to remember when putting together your ezine: Keep it clean and easy to read. Limit your advertising and be selective. Always provide quality content and information.

Add your personality so your readers can get to know you.

Always provide contact info and be accessible. Be consistent; send your ezine regularly as scheduled. Be sure and proofread before sending it out. Online Networking – Online networking, as with offline networking, is very important to your business. This is when you connect with as many people as possible to learn more and share more about your business. Many leads can come from networking. There are several ways to do this online. Email Discussion Groups: Go to yahoogroups.com and search for appropriate groups. Message Boards: Be sure and follow the rules for posting and offer your help as much as possible. Social Sites: Such as MySpace.com, Ryze, Merchant Circle, etc. These can be great ways to make more contacts and get leads. Joint Ventures – This is when you enter into an agreement with another online marketer that will benefit both sides. Examples of joint ventures: Ezine Ad Swaps eBook Ad Swaps Subscription Page Ad Swaps Affiliate Programs Exchange Advertising for % of Sales and the list goes on and on. Be creative and come up with new ways you and your associates can help each other. Podcasting – Podcasting is using digital media files which are distributed all over the internet via syndication feeds.

Podcasting is still a fairly new way of online marketing and has great potential.

Podcasting can be powerful because it uses voice not written words to get the message across. Offer your articles, do voice interviews, offer a chapter in your ebook via podcast, etc. Again, use your imagination to create new ways to spread the word about your business. Ezine Advertising – Advertising your business, product, service, etc. in quality ezines can be well worth the money spent. There are a few things you can to to help you choose which ezines to advertise in. Do a search to find ezines that cater to your target market. For example: if you are advertising kids’ books, you don’t want to advertise in an ezine about cars. Once you find several targeted ezines, subscribe to them so you can look them over and see if the publisher is reliable in sending them out. You can also look over the other ads and make sure the publisher is selective in their advertising. You can possibly learn what the other readers think of the ezine as well. Try contacting the publisher to see if they respond to your email. Ask about testimonials from other advertisers. Find out how many ads they run per issue and what the costs are. You could also ask the publisher to do an ad swap to get an idea of what the response is like. Be selective in your choices and always code your ads so you know which ezines actually deliver.

I hope this article has given you some insight as to how to market your home/online business. I use several of these methods (and should be using the rest) and know from experience that they work! The possibilities with the internet are endless and we need to keep up with new and innovative ways of marketing ourselves and our business. And we need to keep using tried and true methods as well.

Developing an E-Mail Newsletter

The creation of a newsletter is a serious decision because initiating one without the infrastructure and commitment to sustain it can wind up doing more harm than good.

Your e-mail newsletter, once launched, will create an expectation among recipients and if you fail to deliver on that expectation it could lead to a backlash as your customers cll your reliability or commitment into question. The infrastructure you need includes content sources, graphic sources, and the e-mail capacity to send the newsletter. The commitment is eased when you create a timetable that details when the content needs to be concluded, when the graphics need to be completed, and when the newsletter needs to be edited and then ultimately sent. In choosing your send date, you need to think about the other newsletters your readers are likely to receive and make sure that you do not become just one more newsletter in their inboxes. We recommend you send it during a time of the month when there is traditionally less traffic. For example, Tudog sends its e-mail newsletter at the end of each month because most of our competing newsletters are sent either at the beginning or middle of the month. We have found that this increases our readership by approximately 20%. The construction of a successful newsletter has 6 phases. They are: 1. Content The newsletter you send stands or falls on the relevance and quality of the content you incorporate. If your website is meant to entertain you content needs to be entertaining. If it is meant to educate, your content better be educational. Tudog does not believe in using the newsletter for self-promotional purposes, as we think that readers rapidly grow tired of reading commercials and self-serving material. There are other forums to engage in self-promotion. Your newsletter is a service to your customers and needs to be written from the perspective of what they need, and not from the view of how it can serve you. By having your newsletter serve your customers, it will ultimately serve you too. 2. Frequency You need to decide how often you are going to issue your newsletter. There are two primary considerations that need to make up the decision. The first is how often your customer base would engage you newsletter. If your sector is flooded with newsletters, you may conclude that there is an excess of reading material and that a quarterly newsletter is appropriate.

Conversely, you may notice that there is both an absence of other newsletters and a hunger for information, leading you to conclude that a bi-weekly newsletter would provide you with an excellent opportunity. The second consideration is your internal capacity. You do not want to create an expectation for a newsletter that exceeds your production capacity. How many newsletters you are able to release each month needs to be the underlying driver to the decision how often your newsletter is released. 3. Design How your newsletter looks is crucial not only because it represents your company, but also because it could determine how people receive the newsletter and whether or not they are drawn to read it. A well designed newsletter includes a clear delineation of all areas of content, integrated, relevant images, and an identity that is consistent with your company’s identity. It is important that you view your newsletter as an extension of your company and that its personality is representative of the image you transmit to your sector. 4. Database Your database is the list of people to whom you send your newsletter. Your list should be extracted from your client/customer base, prospective clients/customers, and your sector influencers. You should make sure that everyone receiving your e-mail newsletter either requested it or has a way to be removed from your list (clearly and easily marked in your e-mail). Your newsletter can be sent via snail mail, but the costs of printing and postage make e-mail a much more realistic and cost effective often. Using e-mail, you are able to send your newsletter as HTML, text, or in PDF format. You should select your format based on customer preferences. Tudog uses PDF after our inquiries indicated that our clients were most interested in receiving our newsletter in that format.

You clients/customers may prefer a different format, but it should be noted that the content, design, and frequency are not influenced by format. 5. Marketing Your newsletter needs marketing support so that it can reach out to a wider audience and better serve your company as a marketing tool. The support it receives can be as simple as being listed on your website (with a sign-up option) to advertising and special attention. Tudog markets its website by permitted reprints of our articles in magazines and other newsletters, drawing attention to the company, our expertise, and that our newsletter offers continuing exposure to the ideas and hints we publish. 6. Testing We recommend that you test your newsletter before you send it out to your widest audience so that you can benefit from the feedback of your test group and ultimately send out the best newsletter possible. You should select a random group of people (between 50-200) to send your newsletter to, alongside a brief questionnaire asking for reviews on your look and content. Once you have their responses and incorporate some of their comments, you will know your newer version is close to the needs and wants of your target market.

Your e-mail newsletter is an excellent way to reach out to and become meaningful to your clients/customers.

Embark on an e-mail newsletter only if you have the resources and commitment to sustain it. Done properly, it is a powerful and continuing tool for exposure and reinforcement of your expertise.

How To Get Your Customers To Fall In Love With Your Products And Services

Quick Turn Marketing International, Ltd.

My hair grows so damn fast. I have to get a hair cut every 3 weeks. Every time I need a haircut I go to Peter in downtown, Vancouver. You know… Peter actually worked in New York 10 years ago. I guess you could say he earned his chops in New York. And he’s cut hair for many celebrities, including Jim Carrey, etc. Then he moved to Vancouver and opened his own salon. Well, if Pete is good enough for Jim Carrey then he’s good enough for Dan Lok. I’ve been going there for 8 years now. Talk about customer loyalty! Yeah… so I’m sure you are asking why am I so damn loyal? Right? What makes Pete different than the other hairdressers? Why do I go back to him again and again? Well I’ll tell you. Pete works at it. He builds loyal customers in each interaction and builds them into every haircut he produces. He didn’t attract the stars simply because he cuts hair well (though he does). He also offers exceptional customer service. And I have to tell you, even if Pete’s haircutting ability wasn’t 110%, I’d probably still go back. Why? Customer service. Commitment. Quality. So ask yourself, how do YOU build loyal customers? The best way to build loyal customers is by using the loyalty ladder concept. I want you to picture an ordinary ladder. Now consider each rung of the ladder.

Each «rung» is a «stage» of loyalty a customer may have.

There are many different stages of loyalty customers demonstrate at each rung of the ladder:  Raving Fan  Devotee  Member  Customer  Shopper  Prospect  Suspect Let’s describe each of these in more detail. Suspect The suspect is the lowest rung on your ladder, when a customer starts out on your loyalty ladder. This is when customer’s are at the very bottom of your ladder. These are people who may or may not want or need what it is you sell. They may not have any money. They are simply people who are not buying. Prospect Prospects are suspects who have taken some sort of action like subscribing to your newsletter, giving you their email addresses or those who have asked you for some sort of free information. They are people who may turn into active customers, but aren’t there yet. Customer A customer is anyone who has actually spent money with you. You have to differentiate between your prospects and your customers. This is one of the reasons it is so damn important you segment your lists. You don’t want to have everyone on ONE BIG list. At the very least, you should have a prospect list and customer list. You should treat your prospects and customers very differently. You should always give your customers more attention. Give them a better deal than everyone else.

Why? They are already paying you for your products and services. Prospects are important, but customers are even more important. Member A member is someone who buys from you more than once. These are customers that now trust you. They feel they belong with you in some way. Now listen up. Customers who make two purchases are 10 times more likely to make more than someone who makes only one purchase with you. So anyone who is a member deserves special attention, because if they buy twice, they are likely to buy again. Devotee What’s the difference between a devotee and a member? A devotee is someone who not only buys from you, but tells other people about you. They send you referrals. They promote you actively. They are happy to be your free sales force because they get so much value from you. Raving Fan The next stage in the ladder is Raving Fans. Usually only 1% to 5% of your customers become Raving Fans. They’re one of your most valuable assets. They pretty much own everything you have. And, whatever new products and service you come up with, they will buy without blinking an eye. The Raving Fan will stick with you for years as long as you don’t screw up in a major way. There’s a very strong trust and bond with you and the Raving Fans. They trust you 100%. They want to see you succeed. They want to see you do well. If a devotee is someone who sells for you, a Raving Fan is someone who can’t STOP selling for you. Raving Fans tell everyone about how fantastic you are. They talk about your company. They love you. These days it’s more expensive than ever to get a new customer. Most businesses in fact are acquiring their customers at a loss or break-even point. That means you have to get your customers to come back to you and buy again and again. Why? That customer isn’t simply profitable to you. They are your most important resource. What you want, what you need is as many raving fans as you can get.

You will succeed when you sort your prospects from suspects, move people up from prospects to customers, from customers to raving fans. You need to have a marketing system that automatically moves people up the loyalty ladder as quickly as humanly possible. Very soon, it’ll be like me and Pete. I am one of Pete’s Raving Fans. I send him clients. I sell for him WITHOUT him asking me to it. I write about him in my article! I only go to him and nobody else. And I am thrilled to show up every month, 12 times a year to give him money. And I’ll keep going to him unless he retires from the business. That could be another 10 to 20 years. You see how much a Raving Fan like me is worth to Pete’s business? Sincerely, Dan Lok

Are You «Shooting» Your Marketing Dollars with a Shotgun or a Rifle and WHAT’s the Difference?

Sandra P. Martini In marketing your services or widgets, what approach do you use? Do you scatter your marketing efforts over a range hoping to hit something? Or do you take careful aim, hitting the target more times than not? Shotgun Marketing Gun aficionados are going to shoot me here (no pun intended), but whenever I use the term “Shotgun Marketing”, I have this vision of Al Pacino blasting away in Scarface – I’m repeatedly told that he does not use a “shotgun”, but you get the idea.

A shotgun shoots shells over an area with the hope that at least some of them hit the target. The word “shotgun” is actually defined as “covering a wide range in a haphazard or ineffective manner”. Examples of shotgun marketing include cold calling, bulk mailings and advertisements in large circulation general newspapers. In the online world, shotgun marketing includes banner advertising on sites that get large quantities of generic visitors and spamming emails. If you are a professional services business (virtual assistant, web designer, etc.) and haven’t adequately researched your prospective clients, your marketing is going to have the same ineffective scatter-type effect. You will blanket an area with postcards, direct mail campaigns, newspaper ads or online advertising without ever actually knowing if your prospects are “being hit”. Depending on your business, this could be good or it could be bad – either way, it’s going to get real expensive real quick. You naturally get wider coverage using the shotgun approach to marketing – this could be good if you are trying to blanket an area to let them know you exist (for example, a new coffee shop or a new mechanic in town). The downside is that it’s costly as studies show that you need to be in front of someone 7 – 10 times before they even recognize your name. Rifle Marketing I think you know where we’re going with this one. Rifles bring things into focus, allowing you to take careful aim before pulling the trigger. If you know your target audience, really know them, you should be able to initiate marketing campaigns with sniper-type accuracy. “Rifle Marketing” allows you to be more personal in your marketing campaigns. You can also devise campaigns that are made up of more than just a simple postcard or letter. For example, to symbolize how much time (or business) your potential clients are wasting (throwing away) by not hiring you, send your sales letter in a small trash can with a label on it (always send First Class). Your letter is bound to be opened more often (and more quickly) than all the other letters arriving in envelopes via Third Class mail.

Innovative campaigns such as the preceding not only increase the chance that prospective clients will call you, they tell the client something about you before you even speak: you are results-oriented, you think outside the box and you think before you leap. This is the type of person that smart business owners want on their team. Which is better? At first glance, you may want to say that the “rifle” approach is better than the “shotgun”. However, it depends on your business, your personality and your target audience. Shotgun campaigns are, by their very nature, less personal than the rifle campaigns. This may be appropriate to your business. I generally think of shotgun marketing as creating awareness and rifle marketing as getting results. Whichever your preference, remember to keep your marketing campaign true to your personal style and that less done well is much better than more done poorly.

Online Content Networks: Make Easy Money Writing Online?

Stephen Ashton The thought of making even a part-time income as a freelance Web writer from home can be quite appealing. Yet, finding small niche sites that are looking for articles, paying a decent amount of money, and buying content from freelancers with your particular expertise can be a daunting task. Enter online content networks. You probably come across articles on some of the larger content networks on a regular basis through search engines. Having experience working with three such networks, I’d like to share some background on content networks in general, what they’re like to work with, and then follow with a comparison of the three networks I’m experienced with. What Are Content Networks? When I refer to content networks, I mean a group of websites, each covering a niche topic, but still housed under one large umbrella site. The three content networks I’ll soon be comparing are www.About.com (where I was a former writer), www.Suite101.com (where I am a current Editor), and www.AllInfoAbout.com (who I am currently building my third niche site with). Often, sites within a content network are managed by an expert in a field who serves at the site’s writer, front-line editor / proofreader, blogger, and manager of a discussion forum, newsletter, or other site features. In some cases, writers even have some say over the design and layout of their site and content. What is it Like to Work for Content Networks? What it’s like to work with content networks can vary greatly from one network to the next.

But in all cases, you have the ability to focus on a subject you enjoy and are qualified to write on (or they probably wouldn’t have accepted your application in the first place). You also have a lot of flexibility in your schedule, because you’ll work as a freelance writer. Despite the fact that pay scales and methods can vary greatly, you also have the potential to earn money and over and over again from the same articles you’ve written, instead of simply being paid a one-time fee. The Networks Please note that all information I mention regarding the networks below is pulled from personal experience and from information readily available on their websites between late 2005 and May 2006. Each of the networks reserves the right to change their general pay structures, writer requirements, and anything else at any given time, and you should check the network’s official site for the latest information. The information below is opinion-based from experience, and will cover some of the best and worst points of each network. www.About.com – One of the best qualities of About.com is the fact that they have the best pay structure for new writers (called Guides on the site), currently listed on their site as a $500 per month guarantee for the Guide’s first twelve months on the job. Another positive note with About.com is that they have the backing of, and are owned by, The New York Times Company. That fact can help Guides more easily get review copies of products and books, interviews, and other necessary contacts for information they’d like to use on their sites. Despite how good that may sound, the biggest negative aspect of About.com is that they have somewhat rigged rules, in order to keep the network looking unified, so you have less control over your content there, and they probably take the least amount of feedback from writers.

www.Suite101.com – The difference in pay scales between Suite101 and About is similar in that the basic pay scales are based on pageview rates (the number of pageviews your site draws for the network), but different in that Suite101 currently has a set rate for all sites ($2 per 1000 pageviews as listed on their site now) whereas About’s rates are variable. The biggest plus to working with Suite101 is that the company just underwent a reorganization and is going through a series of positive changes and growth right now, including hiring a large number of writers. Suite101 is also fantastic at listening to writers’ and editors’ feedback and suggestions to consider improvements network-wide. The biggest negative for writers would be the fact that there is no guaranteed pay. It’s strictly based on pageviews. www.AllInfoAbout.com – All Info About (or AIA) is a UK-based network with writers all over the world. The best part about AIA is that writers retain the most control over their content, and can decide how to lay out many aspects of their site (from their color choices to whether or not they want to include a blog to organizing their navigation structures in the most effective way to suit their content).

The biggest drawback is that the network doesn’t pay.

However, writers have control over most of the ads on their site, and they can monetize them in other ways such as selling their own relevant products or services. But despite the lack of direct payments, AIA recently started breaking sites onto their own domain names, instead of sub-domains on most networks, and running a site on their network instead of on your own can allow you network support through the writer community and enormous cross-linking opportunities to help you grow your traffic. Overall, each of these networks has their pros and cons. If you opt to give content network writing a try, just be certain to weigh how much the issues of pay, freedom over your content, and open ears of management mean to you. Once you have your own priorities, you’re sure to find a content network that will fit the bill.

Three Reasons to Offer an Online Newsletter

Alicia M Forest and ClientAbundance.com If you want an easy and effective way to keep in touch with your target market, consider offering an online newsletter (ezine). Here are three main reasons to implement this as part of your business building strategies. 1. To continuously build your email list. Offering an online newsletter is one of the most effective ways to build your email list. If you’re already offering a Pink Spoon (your freebie offering, like a special report or short audio) to entice people to sign up for your list, consider adding a newsletter as well. For example, when someone signs up to receive my Pink Spoon, «5 Keys to Wild Abundance in Your Business,» they also receive a free subscription to my ezine, Creating Client Abundance™. Then, to help others help you build your subscriber base, add a tell-a-friend opportunity to your newsletter.

Simply add a line of text at the top or bottom of your newsletter that asks your reader to pass it along to anyone they know who might find it of value. Or to take it up a notch, use your shopping cart’s tell-a-friend code or software like TAFPro to make it super-simple for your current readers to recommend your newsletter to others. 2. To create a place for your list to get to know, like and trust you. You know by now that in order for someone to invest their time and money with you, they have to feel good about you. They have to feel like they know you, like you and trust you before they will become a client or customer. A newsletter is a great way to allow that process to happen. And one way to let your subscribers get to know you is by writing about your personal life, as much or as little as you’d like to share. If you’re in touch with your readers on a regular basis, and you provide them with valuable information, and you let them get to know you a bit, I guarantee that many of them will become clients and customers over time. 3. It’s cheap (even free) and easy! Your newsletter can be created and delivered in a variety of ways. You can write it yourself or hire someone to write it for you. You can provide a 500-word article, or simply one tip. You can create a new issue each time or you can create a certain number of issues consisting of «evergreen» topics. For frequency of delivery, you can send it once a week or once a month. You can set it up to go out automatically through an autoresponder or you can send it through a broadcast service each time you put it out. For physical delivery, you can send it out through your web host, if they have this feature available to you, or through a free (www.ezezine.com) or paid (www.aweber.com) list service. Just a sidenote here: As your email list grows, it’s inevitable that some readers will unsubscribe. Sometimes they’ll tell you why, and when you receive this feedback from them, please don’t take it personally, but consider using it to inform your work on your newsletter in the future. For example, if a handful of your readers tell you that they unsubscribed because the information you’re providing isn’t relevant to them, that’s ok.

You can’t please everyone, nor should you try. But if a significant number of readers are unsubscribing for the same or similar reason, you might want to take a discerning look. Are you providing the content you promised you would in the copy that encourages people to sign up? Or are you providing quality content, just not to the right niche? Or is it something else altogether? Producing an online newsletter really can be as simple as sharing one tip via a text email on a consistent basis. You can always expand from there, if you want. If you’re ready to start acquiring more clients and customers sooner rather than later, go on and create your premiere issue today. And then send me a copy at alicia@clientabundance.com!

Using eCourses to Leverage Your Expertise Online

Donna Gunter You’re a wonderful service provider, whether you’re a massage therapist, real estate agent, mortgage broker, web designer, etc. However, as a service provider, you have only so many hours in the day to work with your clients, yet there are still hundreds and hundreds of people in the world who could really use the knowledge and expertise you hold about the service you provide. Enter the eCourse. eCourses are a timed-released format of delivering valuable information to your customer base via email. The course segment emails consist of shorter pieces of information that can be consumed in generally 1-2 minutes. Using autoresponder technology, the lessons can be delivered with a specific interval of time in between and delivered automatically, with no regular human attention needed beyond the setup of the eCourse. How cool is that? Never been exposed to an eCourse? Here’s one you can sign up for right now: «5 Keys to Putting Money in Your Pocket with a Virtual Assistant», found at http://www.

Boost-Your-Bottom-Line-with-Virtual-Assistance.com. The eCourse can be offered free of charge and used as a marketing tool to gather contact information from prospective clients and to expose them to your expertise and sell them on your products and services. Or, it can be offered for a fee for clients who might want to get a taste of what you offer but aren’t willing to pay your full service fee yet. An eCourse is pretty simple to write. Come up with a topic that is appropriate for your target market. Each lesson becomes a simple article. Write 5-10 lessons, and you have a terrific eCourse on your hands. Or, if you like to write Top 10 lists, create one of those and make each bullet point become one of your lessons for the eCourse. Write your eCourse in a comfortable and conversational tone–just as though the reader were sitting down to have a chat and a cup of coffee with you. Include new and innovative information in what you’re writing so that the reader is assured that you’re the expert. Give some real-life stories or practical applications about how the reader can apply the information in your eCourse. Cite valuable resources in your materials that will further help your reader. To keep your reader motivated and empowered, sprinkle some inspiration in with your eCourse message. You’ll want your reader to come away with useful and valuable information and be anxious to receive or buy further information or expertise from you. If you’ve been in business for awhile, you know that it takes 7-10 «touches» for a client to decide to buy your product or service. A multi-issue eCourse gives the prospective client multiple opportunities to «check you out». And, because you’re getting in front of the prospective client each time s/he receives a new segment of the eCourse, the eCourse permits the prospective client to get to know you before hiring you, thus making the eCourse the perfect relationship builder and lead generator.

Once you have the content for your eCourse, you can format it in plain text, or in HTML, using a program like FrontPage. However, you won’t want to have to personally send out the ecourse to everyone who subscribes, so I use the autoresponder and subscription features that come as part of my shopping cart program. You can sign up for a free 30-day trial here and use all of the features of the program:http://www.kickstartcart.com/app/?pr=31id=59401 Demonstrate to the world what a phenomenal service provider you are. On-page optimization

When it comes to on-page optimization it really does not matter what the page looks like until there is somebody there to see what you have to offer. At that point it does matter what the page looks like with regard to navigation, links and content. – Finding the page – On-page navigation – Links – Content Finding your landing page and what is on it are essentially the same thing. The words and links that are attached to this page will determine how many visits you receive. The first heading, or H1, is the crucial element for finding the page, as far as most search engines are concerned.

Although there are several elements involved, the H1 heading should use wording that contains the essential elements of what your site is addressing. Items to consider for your H1 tag – Include your product of services’ primary focus while staying away from small words such as “and”, “if” or “it.” If you must use these small words try and put them in quotes. When possible research the words to be used for popularity and frequency of search use. Sometimes a less popular term will get you a higher ranking than the most popular word because fewer people are using it. Once the viewer has found your page consider how it looks. As far as a search engine is concerned all text would be fantastic. As far as a viewer is concerned it would look boring. Items to consider for page layout and navigation Your address is key in this area. It should be located as close to the H1 as possible. Search engines look for it. Search engines do not recognize color so anything within the color should be marked with an ALT tag. Color is great from a viewer perspective so using “heavier” colors at the base and lighter on top will help visually move the eye to where you want it to go. Place keywords toward the bottom of the page and outside of the color. Incoming links are a big consideration for many search engines in ranking your page, but they must be quality and relevant links. Content is king. Most search engines, and viewers for that matter, are looking for content that is relevant and fresh. The two things to remember are: place the content to the upper right near the advertisements, and change it up regularly to keep it new and fresh. Viewers and search engines recognize this, it is a must. Make sure that navigation tools are easily seen and prominent. These tools are usually found at the bottom of the landing page and include: contact us, home, help and products.

As you go about setting up your page, for a solid optimization, the most critical item to remember is that your page cannot become a static item. As soon as you begin to neglect the page your ranking, regardless of the search engine that is ranking it, will steadily drop. You must keep it fresh and continuously changing.

Why Becoming An Affiliate Marketer?

Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective ways to market online. It is also one of the easiest ways for anyone with a website to make a profit online. Affiliate Marketing is an agreement between a merchant and a website owner. The website owner, or the affiliate, allows the use of their site for the promotion of the merchant’s products by linking to the merchant’s website. In exchange, the merchant pays a commission to the affiliate on all sales generated by the affiliate. Every time someone clicks on the link on the affiliate website and proceeds to make a purchase, the affiliate gets a commission. The merchant will pay the affiliate only when a customer clicks on the product link and makes a purchase. Affiliate marketing programs are described as a win-win situation for both the merchant and the affiliate because of the pay-for-performance scheme. Both the merchant and the affiliate enjoy some benefits in affiliate marketing. There are many benefits on the merchant’s side. It gives the merchant a wider market in which to advertise a product or service. Affiliate marketing will give the product or service the maximum exposure that it may not get with other traditional advertising techniques.

The more affiliate sites a merchant has, the higher the traffic, which can convert to sales. Affiliate marketing is the equivalent of having an army of sales people who will do the advertising and will only get a commission if a customer purchases. Meanwhile, since an affiliate marketing relationship is a win-win situation, the affiliate also enjoys many benefits. Foremost among these is the easy way to make a profit. The affiliate can earn by having an ad or link to the merchant’s website, which prospective customers will hopefully click and proceed to make a purchase. As soon as the customer clicks on the ad on the affiliate’s site, is redirected to the merchant’s website and goes on to buy that particular product, the affiliate earns a commission. The more referrals there are the more profit for the affiliate. Affiliate marketing is an excellent way to earn money while at home. There are virtually no production costs. The product is already developed and proven by the merchant, and all you have to do to find, as many prospects as you can that will bring in the profit for both the merchant and the affiliate. Affiliate programs are usually free to join, so affiliates do not have to worry about start-up costs. There are thousands of products and services you can choose from. You can find affiliate programs for every product under the sun. Surely, there is a product or service out there that is relevant to your website.

In addition, there is absolutely no sales experience necessary. Most affiliate programs offer excellent support when it comes to providing marketing material. The simplicity of affiliate marketing allows you to be an affiliate marketer at the least cost and the most comfort. You can even build a successful affiliate marketing business right in the convenience of your own home. In affiliate marketing, your responsibility is simply to find prospects for the merchant; you do not have to worry about inventory, order processing, and product shipping. These, along with customer service support are the duties of the merchant. Because of the global reach of the internet, you can easily find thousands of prospects. You can intensify your advertising campaign by exploiting more aggressive and productive strategies such as viral marketing. By attracting more prospects, you also maximize your potential to earn. Another benefit of an affiliate marketer is the minimal risk involved. If the product you are advertising is not making money then you can dump it and choose another. There are no long-term binding contracts tying you to products that are not making enough money.

All the same, the best benefit of being an affiliate marketer is the opportunity to increase your income; and you can make a profit even if affiliate marketing is only a sideline business.

With your own affiliate business, you can earn easily earn extra income, although you do have to exert effort and use your imagination to maximize your earning potential. Indeed, affiliate marketing is one of the simplest and most effective business opportunities on the web today.

Making Google Adsense Pay

Mal Keenan From what I am reading in online forums and discussion boards, Google adsense is still ruling the roost, in terms of popularity, for those wanting to start earning money from home. I personally, have Google adsense ads on most of my websites and I find that even with the lowest of daily impressions an income can be earned. Ok you won’t make a fortune with a few hits per day but if you are constantly building websites and optimizing them for adsense then the income can REALLY add up. A few of my most recent websites are only getting 10-20 impressions per day but really high click through rates. Some days I can earn $2-$3 per site for a couple of clickthroughs from these low traffic sites.

This denotes HIGH interest from advertisers paying big bucks to Google for certain keywords.

Unbelievably, many entrepreneurs are earning six figure incomes per month from adsense revenue alone. The smart earners are building site after site then building out the ones that show potential. The idea is to set up sites in relatively unknown markets but also balanced with some interest in the advertising field. For instance, if you choose a niche with little or no interest from advertisers then the income will reflect this lack of interest, ie. no one will be paying google for advertising in your niche or they will be paying very little and you will earn pittance per click thru. One site of mine in an obscure niche gets hundreds of unique visitors per day and loads of adsense clickthrus, yet the income is only a dollar or two daily. This tells me that advertisers are paying very little, probably in and around 10 cents, for keywords in my niche. At the other end of the spectrum you DO NOT want to choose a niche with so much competition that you cannot get any traffic at all. The «work at home», «home business», «internet marketing» niches are not good examples for a newcomer to make money from Google adsense. The competition is just too great. If you DO already have an established home business site then by all means add some adsense ads to your site. Like everything else I have done online I have learnt through trial and error, Google adsense has been no different.

If you don’t put the ads out there then you will never know the potential. I do get some clickthrus from my home business sites and the click thru rates can be anything from 10-15 cents to $1-2. Not bad! Google adsense is definitely here to stay for the forseeable future and we can all see why. If you have any vision at all you can see the potential in earning from Google adsense and exactly why it has become so popular.

How To Generate Low Cost Website Traffic

There is one hard and fast rule in generating income for your website: A steady flow of website traffic. If no one goes to your site, it hardly bares a chance of generating an income. Many sites have tried and failed in doing so, and these results to the sites demise. It takes money to maintain an income generating site; it also takes money to make money. BUT, it doesn’t take a whole caboodle of cash to generate website traffic for your site.

Ever wonder how does big hit sites drive traffic top their site? Most of them are spending tons of money to drive the traffic to their sites, investing in many advertising campaigns and different forms of marketing schemes and gimmickries. This is all worthwhile because, well, they are what they are now, high earning, big hitting websites. You don’t have to do this if you don’t really have their resources. There are many ways to generate low cost website traffic without having to spend what you don’t have or can’t afford. Many people have banked on high cost methods and have ended up losing their shirt over it. Here I present to you the Top five ways to generate low cost website traffic that could help your site a whole lot. Even if you only get a small percentage of successful visitors in to client ratio it still works especially if you get a high number of website traffic. Exchange Links This is a sure and proven method. Rarely would you see a site where there is no link to another site. Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with one another so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. You’ll soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in to your site from other sites. A major prerequisite in exchanging links with other sites is having the same niche or content as the other site. They should share a common subject so that there is continuity in the providing of service and information to what interests your target traffic. Exchanging links also boosts your chances of getting a high ranking in search engine results. It is common knowledge that search engines ranks high sites that have inbound and outbound theme-related links. With a good ranking position in the search engines, you will generate more traffic in your website without the high costs. Traffic Exchange This is like exchanging links but on a different higher level. This may cost a bit more than exchanging or trading links but could be made cheaper because you get to earn credits. You can use those credits when viewing others traffic, while you earn credits when someone views yours. Traffic exchange services are the viewing of another’s site or page.

This is done vice versa where a site can use your sites contents and so can you to his or her site. You both benefit from each others efforts to generate traffic. The other sites visitors can go to your pages and know more about your site as well as theirs. Once again the public awareness of your sites existence is boosted. Write and Submit Articles There are many e-zines and online encyclopedias in the internet which provides free space for articles to be submitted. If you want to save costs, you can do the articles yourself. There are many freelance writers who are willing to write for you for a small fee, but to save money, it is wise to do those articles yourself. Write articles that are themed along with the niche of your site. Write something that you have expertise on so that when they read it, they can feel your knowledge about the subject and will be eager to go to your site. Write articles that produce tips and guidelines to the subject or niche your site has. Include a resource box at the end of your article that can link them to your site. Write a little about yourself and your site. If you provide a light, information-laden and interesting article, they will go to your site for more. Make a Newsletter. This may sound like hard work because of all the articles you may need to use to build a newsletter but on the contrary, this is not so. There are many writers and sites that are willing to provide free articles as long as they can get their name in on your newsletter. This will also provide free advertising for them as well. As your newsletter gets pass around, you can widen your public awareness and build an opt-in list that can regularly visit your site. Join Online Communities and Forums This only requires your time and nothing else. You can share your knowledge and expertise with many online communities as well as your website.

You can get free advertising when you go to forums that have the same subject or niche with your site. Share your two cents and let them see how knowledgeable you are with the subject. As you build your reputation, you also build the reputation of your site, making it a reputable and honest business that could be frequented and trusted by many people. http://www.autohomecash.com

Articles as WMDS: Weapons of Mass Distribution

Article marketing is a fairly new, very effective internet marketing tool that allows you to promote yourself, your product, website or service. But, this seemingly simply marketing technique can have explosive results! As a business owner or marketer, you simply write articles about your product, service or website. In other words, you write about what you know. Once you’ve written your article(s), you start to submit those articles to directories and sites that accept them. From that point, your articles will be spreading across the internet like wildfire…wildfire with your name, site’s name and usually a link to your site included! You see, whenever you submit an article, you include an “author resource box” that includes any information about yourself, your experience, your business and your site’s URL. Anytime that article is published, including on the directory sites, your information must appear along with it! As a webmaster or publisher, you know that one of the keys to keep your site popular with search engines and to keep your visitors coming back is to have fresh, new, relevant content. Article directories can be the answer to your prayers! You simply search the articles or browse the site and you will find as many articles as you could want to add to your site or publication. All articles submitted to these directories are free to re-print as long as they are reprinted exactly as presented and include the author’s information. There can be site-specific conditions on the reprinting (so be sure to check the terms of each site), but for the most part just stick to the article as presented with all author info included and you’ll be safe! Some people can get put off by the idea of actually writing something for publication.

It can send them back into freshman English class-like anxiety attacks. But, don’t worry most people that use article marketing aren’t Pulitzer Prize worthy writers! In my experience, the best articles and the ones that are picked up and spread the most are the ones that are written in a very reader-friendly manner. Yes, grammar and spelling are important, but what’s most important is that your information is easily accessible and helpful or interesting to potential readers. If you simply don’t have time or really dislike writing, you can always hire a copywriter or ghost writer to do the work for you. Just make sure that the terms are very clear from the beginning as to whose name will appear on the article, the links to be included, the keywords you’d like the articles to focus on, etc. If you’re looking for a new marketing strategy, and you don’t have a huge budget…write a few articles! Get your name out there and start getting recognized as the expert that you are. And best of all get mass distribution of the all-mighty links to your website.

If You Want To Be A Millionaire, Talk To Millionaires!

Linden Huckle «People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.” Anonymous You have decided you want a better life, more money, more free time, a bright future, an exciting life. Make sure you talk to people who are doing it! Do not listen to your negative, bitter and twisted neighbor. You can do it! You have had it with your present lot in life, you are going to do something about it, you have an idea, a business idea to get you out of your present situation in life, you decide to tell everyone about your new business adventure, wait for it, here it comes, ‘you can’t do that, that will never work, it’s to risky, just stick to what you know, sounds crazy to me, you’ve got more chance of waking up on the moon’. Don’t you just love family! Of course they only have your best interest at heart, they don’t want to see you get hurt. They honestly believe they are giving you good advice, in some cases they probably are, but if you are looking at an opportunity where you know people are doing great and leading the life that you want, they are probably giving you WRONG advice. Do not listen to people who haven’t done it, if you want to be a millionaire, talk to millionaires, you can do anything in life, as long as you have the desire. Follow your heart and if it doesn’t work out, get up, dust yourself off and try again, do not quit until you get to live the life of your dreams.

There is an old saying, ‘Nothing is impossible to a willing mind’ If you want something bad enough, you will get it! The trouble with a lot of businesses they promise fast money, get rich quick, earn six figures in a month, when this doesn’t happen people get discouraged and leave. The other problem is, a lot of people simply don’t want to work, they believe that when they sign up to a business, that business owes them a living, the awful truth is, you have to work at any business and that’s the word that scares people, WORK. Remember, if you want more from life, if you want to be rich, successful and have more free time, desire is what you need and lots of it. The desire to SUCCEED. Businesses are sometimes hard, but persevere and NEVER, NEVER QUIT! «When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it – but all that had gone before.» Jacob Riis

Google Best Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Practices – Part 4

The four part of this article will concentrate on the link areas of the off-page optimization for Google. I will review 5 essential link areas. Reciprocal linking does not have the effect it used to. If you are asking for links right now, stop sending automated link requests. Instead, focus on getting natural links from related sites by using “link bait”, in other words, content that is worth linking to because of its value. When offered a link from partners, make sure their page doesn’t have more than 100 links already in it, look for 20 links max when possible, and also that their site is related to the theme of yours. At last, check that you are getting traffic from the link, or drop it. “Article swap” and “article partitioning”. Engage in “article swap” with link partners, and break articles in parts to create a series of them for your visitors to follow (partitioning). Include comments when applicable in all articles (in a different color to distinguish, hint: blue) since it gives visitors great commented content and overcomes duplicate content penalties. Your internal linking structure. You want PageRank to be passed to your traffic pages, so avoid absolute links to “About Us”, “Privacy Policy”, etc.

Here the have a good combination of absolute and relative links is a must. Use absolute links within your content areas, not in you navigation. The PageRank score is directly affected by this. The “run of site links” filter includes internal pages now, so keep this in mind. Also make sure you have a relative link to your home page from every page. You should link to directories or portals that are authoritative as far as your external links. Always use your targeted keyword phrase for the anchor text. It is also wise to vary your anchor text when linking to your internal pages, and it always should match your unique phrase. A few more words on PageRank. Any PageRank of less than 4 is not counted by the algo. That explains why Google shows much less back links for any domain than other search engines. You need to gain good incoming related links, not just any links. Again, the “less is more” concept could be applied here as well. Few good quality links always out weight lots of low quality unrelated links from other sites. Outgoing links are viewed from a different angle, and are related to “the theme” of your site. There is an optimal ratio between the quality vs.

the quantity in links.

You need to get as many links from pages with a high PageRank and a low number of total links in them. Your link campaign goals. Set yourself some achievable goals when it comes to links. Be realistic, and try to get one link exchange, article swap, directory submission, forum comment, etc. per day. Verify quality of all links, and use the “no follow” link attribute or directly remove all links from any site with 100 or more links on their page that is not an authority site.

Search Engine Optimization the beginning to Internet Marketing

So you’re interested in getting to the top of Google! If you’re interested in search engine optimization then there’s about a 98% chance that it’s the reason you are reading this article.

In SEO you have two choices you can hire a company to handle your search engine optimization, or you can read about a thousand articles like this one and learn how to do it your self in doing this I would also learn a little about html, and find a way to do some sort of keyword analysis because if you can not change your text on your website, and you choose worthless key words then your site will not be associated in the right category therefore you will not make any sales. If you’re still reading this then you’re looking for the great hidden secret to getting to the top of Google. In order to rank high in Google you have to do two things have a better word score then anyone else for your keywords, and have more links coming to your site from sites with high page ranks. In getting a high word score you need to have some text on your home page and in this text you need to mention your keywords as many times as possible. When you optimize your web site for keywords you are basically getting your site ready for search engine optimization which in all reality is just getting incoming links to your site. Before you submit your site to the search engines you should have a good amount of keyword rich text, Meta tags (Which are not obsolete by the way), a robots Meta tag, and a Google sitemap. Once you have done all these things you are ready to get some links to your site (this is how you get to the top). When you have incoming links to your site it matters a lot that those sites have high page ranks for example if you have a site with a page rank of 7 linking to you then Google’s algorithm will crawl your site every 24 hours which is very good. There are some things that could have a negative effect on your ranking with the search engines these things are called black hat SEO tactics.

You do not want to do anything to get your site black listed in the search engines.

Before Google and all the other search engines changed there algorithms SEO Company’s and webmasters would use some techniques to get to there links to the top like hiding text, hiding links, link malls, and link farms.

You should avoid anything that might have a negative effect on your page rank. There is a lot more to Internet Marketing then just search engine optimization however search engine optimization is where it all starts. Search engine optimization improves the volume and quality of traffic to your web site. Before optimizing your site you should have knowledge of how search algorithms work, and research on what people looking for your site search for to get to it. This is one of the key factors in having a productive website, and achieving a good page rank.

Why Most People Never Succeed At Internet Marketing

It is so true. Probably only five people out of a hundred who attempt to make a living at internet marketing, actually do Can you guess why? It takes too long. In our modern society we want instant solutions. Instant attainment of our dreams and desires. While this might work for buying a new car, where it can be bought with finance, achieving several thousand dollars a month with internet marketing is not so quick. It takes time to build a business. And making money from the internet is a business. You see, many people get discouraged. They see only a trickle of results from all their efforts and decide it is not worth it. That it is too hard. I know. I have been there myself. You spend weeks looking at a few cents or dollars trickle in a day from adsense, or another income stream, and the amount barely increases each day, or even decreases, that it really is not difficult to understand why people just give up.

What you need to realise is, this effort has a cumulative effect, whereby after a certain period of time, it all begins to get easier. Think of it like pushing a huge rock up a hill. Would you not think that was tough? Definitely. However, when you finally reach the summit of the hill, and begin rolling the rock down the other side, the task of pushing the rock becomes so much easier. It is the same principal with internet marketing. When you start out, the learning of it and getting momentum started in your business, takes a while. Then after working hard for many months, it suddenly begins to get easier. The sad thing is, so many people never reach this point. It is less difficult to work an hour for a paycheck, than work an hour now and get properly compensated for your efforts six months later. But the rewards are so wonderful. To work when you want. To take holidays when you want. You must keep your eyes on the internet marketing prize. So few do long enough to reach it. But that does not mean you will not. Each day you are working on your internet business, remember that eventually you can not help but succeed, as long as you never give up. In the darkest of days, it must seems like true success will never come, and this is what separates those who make it and those who become mere casualties along the way. I do not want this to happen to you. Be strong and push through during the hard times. It will be worth it in the end. Copyright Gary Martin 2006 All Rights Reserved

Discover Wealth Secrets Of Information Marketing Professionals

Jeff Smith It’s a very odd phenomenon, the fundamentals of business are so simple and yet the failure rates of business continue to disappoint at well over 50% – looking even more dismal the longer you track a business from its inception. On a more specific level, I have had a great deal of experience in the information product marketing business segment both offline and online and see marked differences between those who struggle with this business and those who take off and never look back. One of the biggest factors differentiating the hobbyists from the real big money earners in the information marketing business is the degree to which the entrepreneurs look at their ventures as end-to-end businesses versus businesses that are based on a single event (website developed, ebook written, affiliate marketing site created, etc…) Once you begin to look at the various facets of your information product marketing business, it becomes obvious that there are many skills required to carry out all functions of your plan.

It’s likely that you are better at 1 or 2 of these, perhaps being able to perform all functions, but not to quite the same level. Considering the information marketing business and your role within that business is a critical factor toward your results. So, let’s look at the skills required for your business. 1. PLANNING STRATEGY: Over and over again I’ve tried to drive home the importance of coming up with a business plan for your information marketing business. Starting with a 3-5 year goal and working backward is a great way to chart a course making your journey more certain. For someone who loves to take action, this stage can be a little daunting. Realize however that it must be done, if you struggle with business planning, then hook up with someone who has been through the process before – you may even find such a person at your local entrepreneur or mentoring program offered by Entrepreneur centers in many towns and cities. 2. RESEARCH AND TESTING: A critical, often underestimated set of skills important to the success of your information product is the ability to research a market for opportunities and test your market, ideas and topics for signs of existing demand and spending activity. People who have great skill at tapping into opportunities in a market often are curious by nature, good listeners, have a good ability to relate concepts to one another and generally are good investigators. 3. JOURNALIST SKILLS: Closely linked to research and testing, a journalist combines the skills of uncovering the the few «in depth» questions that your market really wants to know, networking skills, a very powerful knack for asking questions, a true passion for their topic and a good ability to write or edit their work to bring out the most important points. 4. PRODUCT CREATION SKILLS: Product creation is really about understanding the format(s) that best suite the material you will be marketing to your customers and being able to quickly and efficiently package that material in written, audio, video or in real-time seminar formats.

Remember, we are trying to find your idea skills. We can all master each of these tasks if we are given enough time and teaching, but what you want to do here is give an honest opinion of your current strengths. For example, if you were an expert at packaging audio and video products, then it would make more sense having someone else plan your business and generate the content, while you can focus on your strength of packaging products behind the scenes. 5. MARKETING SKILLS: I’ve split marketing skills into two large sub-groups, skills that require behind the scenes work and skills that involve outbound and relationship management activities. For example, you could be quite good at creating press releases, marketing plans, written articles and interviews, blogging, etc…these are all examples of behind-the-scenes marketing typically enjoyed by people who like to work alone, have more control over their environment and perhaps are more on the introverted side. Alternatively, marketing skills such as networking, public speaking, team building and leadership lead to more successful outbound and relationship marketing. Both are required to raise your business to the high-achiever ranks, few people are experts in both of these areas. Bet you didn’t realize there were so many skills required to operate your own super-profitable information product marketing business did you? No wonder you get overwhelmed by the sheer effort all of this requires. A couple of these skills may allow you to perform that part of your business in your sleep, while other factors mean you take four-times longer than an expert to accomplish the same task. Its no wonder that most people hit roadblocks along the way. Even if you master each of these areas enough to get your first product out the door, can you really scale your business success to where you want while doing all of this yourself? By now, you should have a good idea of what strengths you bring to the table and more important, which ones you do NOT.

By understanding where you need help, you can make decisions about how you want to structure your business, what type of business you would like to run and who to look to for help.

Internet Marketing Strategy as simple as 123

I found an Internet marketing strategy that is simple and inexpensive. The strategy takes some time and effort, but the results speak for themselves. I discovered this method mid December 2007 and put it into play on January 4th 2008. I started using the method in the billiards niche.

I chose this niche because I have been building a content site around pool and billiards since January of 2007.

The method is a combination of blogging, social book marking and article submission. I know this can sound kind of confusing, but it is really quite simple. This Internet marketing strategy only takes a few minutes a day and the results can be unbelievable. The blog that I started about billiards had over 11000 hits in January. This is pretty cool considering I set the blog up on my domain and wrote the first article on January 4th. If this sounds like something that interests you and you need some help understanding the technical side of things, just shoot me an email and I will help you out. This is a fun way to build traffic to your website and pay it forward with some knowledge for other people interested in your niche. When doing this type of marketing, it is important to pick a topic that you know and have a true passion for. This makes it much easier to write about. Don’t worry if you have never written anything before. If you have a passion for the subject it will come easy. Your passion will come through in your writing and the audience who reads it will respect that. Writing content like this is really nothing more that simply communicating. Just write as if you are talking to a friend. To Your Success on finding a good Internet Marketing strategy. Ted

A Manager’s Challenge-Keeping Things Fresh and Exciting !

New World Opportunities Inc. I think back to my days as a manager in the POS/cash register roll and ribbon business (one division of many in a large direct sales organization) – a business that continually required motivation of the sales troops-and I sometimes reflect on the techniques we employed as managers of our various divisions. If we were discussing handling a stable of professional athletes,I’d like to believe that -with most of them making salaries of $1-10 million a year – that no motivation would be required. Though, I harken back in recent times to a series filmed for HBO called «Arliss-life of the sports super-agent» and beefy contracts with generous signing bonuses were seldom enough. I recall one hilarious episode featuring a big-name basketball player who absolutely required add-ons like a 8-man hot tub for his new crib, a jewelry allowance for his bling, bling appetite and the use of the owner’s corporate jet to fly his extended family around.

But in my case,it was a different animal when we are discussing young people-most in their early 20’s – making a range of $200-$1000 a week back in the late 80’s/early 90’s. The name of the game was sales and grant it;we had a lot of fun, held mostly entertaining and informative morning meetings and afternoon pow-wows and threw a lot of contests and bonus money on the board. But even with all that going on,people get complacent and same-o,same-o becomes the same-o. I was not your typical sales manager and I prided myself on drafting up creative ways to shake things up . While simultaneously providing some fun and excitement for my people I stilll wanted to create a stronger sense of community. It was also a bigger challenge for me than my colleagues who ran the other 8 or 9 direct sales divisions as their people would get all rah-rah’d up in their lengthy morning meetings and then they would be turned loose on the streets, apartment complexes and office stacks for the rest of the day leaving the managers free to interview, shop, conjure up a contest idea, flirt with secretaries, etc. You get the idea. I,on the other hand, had my people with me all day as our platform was inside sales. So creativity to the «n» th degree was the call of the day often . Here are just a few of the «ideas» that I came up with and actually executed. A few may seem off the wall but what the hey…………at the time it seemed like a good idea. Yes,they got results. Good ones. It was a flat period for our office come often in early February.Retail was down and consumers were busy paying off their late December shopping spree frenzies. Yet, the weather was unseasonally beautiful, clear and warm and was going to be so for a good week or more. I figured why not use block ‘n tackles and take the desks and chairs right up through the skylights and place them on the roof where we had a magnificent view of the North Shore mountains along the coast of the Burrard Inlet behind the city of Vancouver.

The staff loved it ,taking in that fine air whilst enjoying the sun in perfect 72 degree weather and sales actually boosted by close to 40%. Another time,I closed shop early as I felt we were banging our heads off the wall in the office during a heat wave so I chose an air-conditioned pool hall and we staged an all-afternoon tournament and went out for pizza after at a real, neat vintage parlor.

They had a blast and came back the next day or few with a vengeance.

This was a good one. I had them all change caps for one (hot) day and go out on the streets with one member of the other divisions to give them a sense of perspective as to how good they had it. After all they received a guaranteed salary in our force and the others were all on pure commission. Wow, did that provide a wake up call and a very sweet result ! My piece de resistance and ,perhaps controversial, was taking them to a 100% nude beach with a great local history near the largest university grounds in all of Canada. In retrospect,I was probably the only one who took it all off ( there were 20 or so of us) as I was quite unabashed that way. I was actually the one conducting the meeting. Good thing I was in shape. Regardless of the preference of each of our team, they returned back to the office with a lot of energy and now knew to never know what to expect with me at the helm and that kept things interesting to say the least. To conclude, different types of businesses may require a different scope in approach but the one common denominator is that we are all human regardless of the nature of our daily grind and our personalities. Keep things fresh and provocative and odds are you will see less turnstile swinging in your personnel complement and a turbo boost in production not to mention an overrall higher morale.
